Y’all duck hunters are having success after that last cold front?

I don’t duck hunt but I’ve always kept up with other duck hunters and like seeing ducks in the wild. Seems like duck hunting conversation in this board has died

I thought this front would push some down but if not, will it ever or has things changed west/east for good?

The most recent posts before you posted this was in a thread titled “cold weather - no duck…”

It sounds like the push didn’t happen like you’d expect, at least for some people. Add to the fact that over half the state isn’t hunting because west zone is closed, doesn’t help with the reports.

My step son hunted somewhere in northern Mississippi over the weekend and they crushed the ducks. Cannot comment on Louisiana.

I’m in NE Arkansas and besides opening weekend, it’s been the worst season I can remember. I hunted hard the past 4 days and did not pull the trigger. I had 2 groups of mallards work. In 4 days. Some people are doing well, many are doing bad. I saw the least amount of ducks and geese than I ever had. I personally think this cold weather happened far too late to make them move up north.

We beat the brakes off them this weekend. The river came up, and the backwater wasn't frozen when everything else was. Limits of mallards were easy. Off ducks were hard if you didn't kill wood ducks early. Going to Five Oaks Fri-Sun.

Saw tons of teal in bayou Sauvage while driving along hwy 11 yesterday. They were in pretty much all of the open water. First time I’ve seen that this year. Birds were few and scattered on my Delacroix lease the weekend before last but I’m hoping more showed up with this front.

I think this front was to late for much to migrate

Up in Quitman county. I could see some push of birds from the few days before the weather and during the storm. They showed up when the snow did. But it wasn't a lot of birds.

I live on a lake in East Texas. I have fifty or sixty wood ducks along my waterfront most every morning. Some have to be migrators. I have less than half of that in the spring.
