This ole gal dives into the Ruger financials. Simply put, Ruger is making money and has great financials. However, it is cutting out the models that simply aren't selling.

will also create more demand for them when they eventually bring them back.

I think limited runs would work.

Allen Edmonds does that with several shoes such as Spectators/Broad Streets. Result is the limited runs sell out.

I own a limited run GP100. 5 inch .357 mag.

Crazy to see the GP 100 and Blackhawk make that list. Such iconic wheel guns from them

Even the single six got hacked.

Not that I know every gun purchased, but I dont think I know anybody whos bought a revolver in the past 5ish years. Theyre expensive and very much out of style now. Blackhawks were a great buy at $450. Now they were closer to $700.

Even I am down to only 2 revolvers.

I had a super single six that I sold. It was an excellent gun for what it was, but ever since getting a GP100 and Mark IV I realized single action revolvers were a waste of space.

I have a GP100 Match Champion, a Red Label O/U, and a GSR...always like Ruger for their non-mainstream offerings.

Back in the day they had the safari magnum which was a true magnum action and supposedly sold them at a loss. Their cool practical offerings were always awesome. The ruger guide gun is an incredibly cool rifle. Ive always liked that they kept SKUs that very obviously would never be high volume movers. I hope they get back to that. I know business is business and they have to make the share holders happy, but it sucks for us.

I held off on getting a gunsite scout for years because I didn’t “need” it and now they’ve discontinued it. Bummer

They don't get enough love, I got an 18" stainless version a little over 10 years ago, it has a Vortex scout optic on it now but the iron sights are excellent.

Polymer frames are much cheaper to manufacture than metal frames Robot injection-molding processes are cheaper than labor for metal milling.

Plastic Frames: $3.50 to $20.00 per unit
Aluminum Frames: Approximately $30 to $60 per unit
Steel Frames: Approximately $50 to $100 per unit

and replacing it with these.

Theyre a great design. Immensely practical rifles. Id love to have a 16" one with a zero gravity airlock and a 1-6 accupoint.

yes now you have to replace the plastic stock with a Boyd’s to get back to the classic. I assume the action is the same but maybe not?

that gunsite scout was the ultimate do everything rifle esp in 308

The American rifles are a three-lobe push-feed, GSR's are Mauser-type controlled-feed.

And vastly cheaper to make, and as much as I hate to say it generally shoot really well.

It is the golden age of cheap rifles. The cheapest shite you can get these days will generally shoot damn well. A man had to use a months pay to buy a model 70 in the 50's and it was probably going to be a 2 moa rifle at best. Now a kid can cut grass for a week and buy a ruger american or savage axis, stick a $300 scope on it and bang plates at 500 yards and get bored doing it.
