5.56 is definitely better but some deer rifle rounds seem in short supply

Why steel?

Federal depredation permit requires steel shot on migratory birds

And federal wardens will randomly appear on the farm and check

I just found a local store finally with some cheap steel shot. It was #7 steel shot but it don’t matter my employees can’t hit shite anyways. 9.99 a box. Bought 12 cases that should last me a couple months

Only thing I’m really short on is large pistol.

Only have 1000 of those. I’m good on everything else.
Bought up a bunch early last year.

If you find a need for large rifle primers let me know.

When the shtf, you have to do like Red Dawn. Use what you got and take the bad guys stuff. Each time, you grow.

Powder and bullets

Where’s all the powder? I’d love to know.

Hornady 20 and 22 caliber bullets have been available pretty regularly recently on various sites, including Midwayusa.com and Midshouthshooterssuply.com. In the last few weeks I received multiple email notifications of powders I was looking for. These came from Grafs.com and Powdervalley.com. I was really tempted by the availability of Hodgdon CFE 223. One month ago I bought 4# of powder from Midsouthshooterssupply. Powders and bullets are becoming available, but you gotta look around a lot. OTOH, I've not seen ANY primers available, except at "scalper's" prices.

I just got this email notification today for a gun powder.

Online is still the way to go but Academy is getting stuff back in stock. Spam cans of 7.62x39 for .40/rd and green tips for around .50/rd

The 2 Academies in my local area have had a pretty steady supply of 9mm 7.62 5.56 .308 and .22LR for several weeks now.
Even ran across the lone 2 boxes of .38sp for just over .50 cents/rd. a couple of weeks ago. Plenty of skeet/dove shotgun shells too.

I was in Tennessee last week. Bucs and Smokey mountain knife works had pallets of ammo and full gun racks for sale.

It’s out there and some is high as giraffe p**** but it’s available.

I just ordered some American Whitetail in 270 from cabelas. Really didn’t want to pay $30 for a box, but I really needed 270 ammo. Haven’t seen much 270 out there in a while.

I have also had trouble finding ammo locally due to working 7 days a week and not being able to get to the stores early in the morning before everything that they received is bought up. I broke down and decided to ask my wife to pick up 10 boxes of 300 WSM from a local shop the other day since my son and I both use the same caliber for deer and she comes home with 10 boxes of Hornady 110 grain V-Max in 300 Blackout . I don’t even own a rifle chambered in 300 Blackout but I’m now stuck with 200 rounds of it! Still haven’t found what I needed but I now know where there is 200 rounds of 300 Blackout at!

Sounds like a good reason to buy a new gun! "Hey honey, thank you so much for going out of your way on a very busy day to buy that ammo for me. But since I don't have a gun in that caliber, I'm going to have to buy one. Thank you so much! You're the best! "
