Not so much fields, as I’m curious the ones driving their gatortails down river for an epic hunt for the gram.

If I can't walk in and out, I ain't going. Lessons from 1983 and 1989 still there.

I used to do it in Venice on all the blizzards. Looking back now that was some dangerous shite.
One year late 80s an ol boy I knew sunk his boat and got wet they survived by opening a tubing line on a well and lighting it like a heater.

Sadly some dumbasses will do it. With Sitka gear I’m not sure weather is even a factor anymore.

So many ducks will die hung up in the nets trying to escape south...

I have had some good ones in the fields when we had a hard freeze. Usually the hard North blows all the water out of the marsh where I hunt now.

I remember trying to make a hunt in Delacroix’ during a hard freeze and the water in the boat battery was frozen.

I am going to hunt tomorrow and I am hoping to see a push of ducks moving in ahead of the cold but it never seems to work like that.

This season has already been more productive then the last 4 so I have no desire to push it.

It is the best time when everywhere is locked up and you can make a hole in the ice. Them frickers will decoy get shot with some flying off and will come right back in the hole 2 minutes later.

Might hunt a little slough Saturday, but I was on the same one during the first split with some 15ish mph winds blowing, and wasn't crazy about the way the trees were swaying.

No way I'm hunting it Friday morning when the winds are going to be well over that.

I hope no one is actually dumb enough to believe this.

I am traveling Thursday/Friday, but will probably hunt Saturday. Hoping lots of others do to. If we don't have area hunters, we don't see much after 7.
