Good. The HDs destroy the factory night sights. Good call

If you are even slightly considering the trigger (worth it imo), go ahead and get it so you can install it when you swap the sights. The factory rear sight is an absolute bitch to remove, and you have to remove it to install the new striker block in the Apex kit. May as well kill two birds with one stone.

I don't own a 40...I'd like to, but would rather spend a lot on a 45 and a little on a 40

Gunbuyer and Whittakers sold out. GB has the thumbsafety left but don't want that one for the a forementioned reasons.

BUT PSA came through. Just got it for $319 and with the rebate it will be $244. Damn. Reminding me of the HP Touchpad days on here.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll look into the trigger part before doing anything. Something a novice can handle with some punches? I have swapped trigger stuff but never a sight on a gun like that.

Also pretty sure Carson shares the same sentiment about the HDs

I do too. I have them on my carry M&P9c and they are excellent - extremely fast to acquire the front sight (yellow for me).

If you're in Baton Rouge I can do it for you. I have a sight drift tool and have installed many apex kits (including the one on Carson's performance center full sized M&P). If you only have a punch set I probably wouldn't embark on that journey - you're gonna beat up that rear sight and may not even make the front one move.

The first Shield I bought was a 40. Way too snappy for my tastes. Hard to reacquire the target and was a bitch on my thumb and thumb web area. Sold it and got the 9 within 2 weeks.

Also, my wife had an even harder time shooting it. Something you may want to consider if your SO will be shooting it too.

I've been debating this all weekend and I still haven't pulled the trigger. I let me CCW expire so I never carry concealed any more. Not sure I have a use for it I just want it because it's a great deal

Shooting my friends I pinched the hell out of the palm of my hand when slapping in the extended magazine so be careful. How hard is it do lower the trigger pull? His was about the same as the double action pull of my P228. Don't want a 4-5lbs trigger but it would have been much better at 6-7 instead of about 9-10.

Bought the MP 9mm compact for gf last year. Was a beginner. Shoots it like a champ. It's a pretty good gun.

I may take you up on that. I watched some vids and it sure seems I would mess up a new gun trying to hammer them off I am in laffy so not far away.
