I didn't even know LA existed above I-10 until I moved here two years ago. I thought all of LA was marsh and swamp. I prefer South LA because of the Gator hunting and saltwater fishing is great.

He wont post the pic..

But it wouldnt matter much. There are tons of pics of monsters and full duck straps all over the place. Im not sure what one pic would do to sway anybodys judgment.

It all boils down to where you are from. The people that say south, say that because fishing the marsh/offshore outweigh killing Mallards by the droves and monster deer. For me, it is the opposite. Besides, there is all the fishing you want in the Mississippi oxbows and Lake Francis Thompson

But hell, where else in LA can you limit out on ducks and reds in the morning, then turn around and go after yellowfin and AJs for lunch and afternoon

True but I can limit out on ducks then catch a bunch of those sac- a- crapa- white perch things (which taste 10x better than any fish caught in saltwater.)

Also, like I said, I grew up in south LA and now do nearly all outdoor activities in central/north LA. I saltwater fished for years. It's way too much work and too expensive.

I think it all just comes down to proximity. NELA has better deer no doubt, but within 3 hours (counting the boat ride offshore), a person in Terrebonne, Lafourche, and the surrounding areas can shoot deer, ducks, turkeys, doves, catch bass, perch, frogs, gators, specks, reds, tuna, etc etc etc. That being said, I learned how to hunt in Jackson parish and my biggest buck was taken there. I deer hunt in MS now though, the scenery is nice and the deer aren't too shabby either.

Plenty of those things down here too.

And I'll take wahoo over sac-au-lait any day of the week.

Saltwater fishing ain't worth it to me. I used to do it with the pops but its too damn far ans cost me too much for some half arse tasting fish.

the problem with all your arguments, is that all of the bolded things are better up there in NELA. And NELA can drive 3 hours to saltwater fish too..

This is not a serious statement. I've had both. There is no comparison.

I would give Avoyelles the edge over Rapides, I used to love fishing the atchafalaya, duck hunting in the morning, and gator hunting in the evening. Miss that place.
