Shame on me. It took me 4 pages to realize I'm dealing with complete idiots.

These people sat at your table and you didn't want them there nor did you know them
Correct. Believe it or not that is what happened.
quote:

So, then Ruth's gives you a bottle of wine and you still wrote a letter to the restaurant after that?

Correct. That is along the lines of what I expected based upon the situation.

What did Ruth's have to do with the experience unless you asked Ruth's to remove the people and they didn't?

It was in a Ruth's Chris restaurant? The manager appeared to try to talk to them, however, based on their comments at our table they were, IMO, hammered. In my estimation, they could not entirely grasp what was going on. They were indeed heavily intoxicated.

I would have written a letter thanking Ruth's for the bottle of wine and for the waiter's actions in trying "to lighten the situation" if I was going to write a letter.
Trust me, the waiter was given much praise in the letter for all he tried to do.

I must be missing something because this is strange

I don't see what you are missing. Ruth's showed a great deal of generosity by what they did. I posted about it.

That's pretty unusual man

It was the strangest thing I've personally ever experienced in a restaurant. I was ok with just the bottle of wine. Ruth's went above and beyond so to speak.

I hope we get more details on this.

That's basically what happened. After a few minutes of them trying to talk to us from their table (the tables were pretty close) they decided to sit at the two empty chairs at our table. Hats off to the waiter. He did what appeared to be the best he could to lighten the situation. The letter stated that this was not the type of experience we've come to expect from Ruth's Chris. They showed great generosity.

Is it out of the question that they knew the drunk couple?

Then how would that have basically ruined the dinner? We would have most likely laughed the whole time had we knew the couple. It was still rather humorous for about five minutes until it carried on for the rest of the night. It became not funny fairly quick.

I posted my opinion followed by the facts as to how I arrived at that opinion. Feel free to agree or disagree with me dumbass. Evidently you don't know what a message board is for.

Be more specific. What did said couple exactly do to "ruin" your valentine's day dinner?

All I'll say is they did not even order food and spent approximately 40% of the time at our table. I'm not going to attempt to justify anything. No refund was ever requested. I wrote the restaurant to explain what happened and that is was not necessarily the night we expected. They did the rest on their own. I appreciated their generosity. That's all.

Ruth's Chris Appreciation

The gf and I had our Valentine's Day dinner just about runined by an extremely intoxicated couple sitting next to us. The manager removed the bottle of wine from the bill and apologized. After writing a letter to describe the night, the entire bill was refunded and we received a gift certificate.

Excellent way to treat customers/clients. We will be enjoying many more filets and praline freezes in the future.

Lance Walker...Offshore Fishing

Posted by treble hook on 3/15/13 at 2:49 pm
I would like to apologize to the OB for my comments regarding Lance Walker's fishing guide service in a previous thread. Although it was percieved as a personal attack on Lance, that was not the intent. I was only trying to point out that we did not catch any tuna on a recent tuna fishing trip. I have apologized to Lance for those comments.

I understand when booking a fishing guide, you are booking the service and there is no guarantee to catch any species of fish. As I stated in the original thread, we did catch several species of fish on the trip. We were grateful to do so. While the tuna may not have been there we were still able to go home with fish in the ice chest. Out of respect for Lance, my negative comments have been removed from the thread.

If anyone is looking for a fishing guide to give you a great opportunity to catch fish, look into Fish Commander with Lance Walker. :usa:

Gotcha.

But as to the topic of the OP...Some intelligent corn farmers were successful at lobbying and now we have this ethanol crap. It's really that simple. Has nothing to do with global warming or energy independence. No semi-intelligent human being actually thinks ethanol is the future.

This thread was suppose to be about ducks and fish. What I find interesting is that for the last couple of years DU and DW tell us that numbers are up yet, I don't see that.

You believe what DU and DW tell you?

Do we still believe global warming is real?

Come to Dallas this year for Labor Day and spend three days out there on that hot asphalt. I'll make you a believer.

Have you seen Al's presentations? He's got a plan to cool down Asia too.

That's why we should have elected Al Gore. He would have fixed this problem and made sure we had no global warming.
