I love my Bubba and clean the shite out of redfish with it. I'm not sure why it got so many downvotes but to each his own. I personally hate electrics

Rapala electric for all fish. It's just too damn easy with an electric.

Another vote for American Angler electric, I just don't get the hype for standard fillet knives. Maybe I just suck with them, but it takes me 2-3 times as long to use a standard knife vs electric.

ETA: Mr Twisters are junk

Electrics are the shite for fish that are easy to fillet like specs and bass. For bigger fish they dont hold up.

I just go to the restaurant supply and buy various sized breaker and boning knives. They’re cheap and if you lose them you can replace them for next to nothing.

2 year warranty, have one that crapped out in 1 that’s going back to them soon. Must return them in original packaging with blade. They’re the best but far from bullet proof imo.

I use a larger Bubba Blade to cut through reds. I find I get a better cut than using my Dexter serated, ad it breaks right through the bones. I also use a 7" Dexter Russell filet knife. For sheepshead, I use a sharp 5" fixed blade knife.

I would prefer to use electric for all, but I have been trying to get better using a blade. For electric, American Angler for the win.

I’ve got one I didn’t pay full price for. It’s a fine filet knife.

I guess I’d say it’s not worth double what you pay for a dexter and it doesn’t perform any better than a dexter.

For those that use the AA Electric, do you use the included blade for Reds? Or did you order a separate blade?

The actual blade is rock solid and very flexible. The handles however are not ergonomic for my hands and are sometimes a hassle to work with. Other than that not bad for snapper and redfish. Hell, trout only take one fluid motion with bubbas.

If it’s bigger scale fish like reds or snapper this is your ticket. Reds are normally done in minutes once you get the hang of it. Buy the blades on amazon and get a one handed sawzall, you will thank me later.

I wanted a folding fillet knife for a backpacking trip and ordered the Buck 0220BLS Silver Creek Folding Fillet knife and could not be happier. It's like $30 on Amazon and was much better than I had expected.

Still love an electric fillet knife though.

I tried a filletzall and butchered a red. I heard the freshwater blade works well.
