Private waters:
8lb on junebug/chartreuse lizard in a neighborhood pond in BR

7lb on junebug/chartreuse horny road in a farm pond in E TX.

Public:
6lb on white chatterbait in a pond on a WMA in OK.

ETA:
PB smallie is a 4.25lb in Blue River in Oklahoma on a yellow magic. That was a giant for a river smallie.

PB Guadalupe was 2.5lb, 16.75" on a TRD Ned Bug. That's a biggun for a guad.

PB spot is probably only 2lb. Caught a ton of them over the years but nothing over 16" I bet.

I am amazed how many people are being honest. If this was the OT everyone would claim a 20 pounder.

My personal best is a old one from my teen years when I spent more time at Lake Degray in Arkansas than I did at home. Its a rather crazy story but I have the skin mount to prove it. I was 13 fishing from the state park marina and a massive bass was engulfing larger than hand size bluegill as I pulled them in with a ultra light. It would follow them to near the surface, engulf them and then promptly snap my line.

That crap was happening to me weekly and literally NO ONE believed me. I wised up and started baiting up my 5500C hybrid striper rig with the first large bluegill I caught. I would keep that rig by me with a live bluegill ready to go. Took a few days of doing this but she finally followed one up to the surface and I pulled off the switch. Bang... 10 pounds 8 ounces. My mom was so shocked that I hadn't been telling a tall tale she had this nice glass enclosed mount done.

Somewhere around 6-6.5 at lake fork at 12 years old on a lizard. We were fishing bedded bass. Couldnt keep it since it was 0.5" inside the slot at the time.

7.84 on a wacky rig senko at calling panther lake. Got one just over 6 on a popping frog on the Rez. Started bass fishing about 4 years ago and I’m hooked on the idea of a 10lb on public water. All my bass fishing has been from kayak

I haven’t bass fished a lot. I’ve caught quite a few 4-5 lbers but my biggest was on topwater in Reggio of all places. It was 22” and 6 lbs on topwater.

Best LM was a buddies pond on a plastic frog. Maybe 6-6.5

Caught a SM at least that size if not a touch bigger at pickwick lake. Using a 5 wt fly rod, 4x tippet and a dry fly. It was the 1st big mayfly hatch of the year. I’d already caught 50 or more bream and this was my last cast before breakfast. Never jumped just pealed drag well into my backing.

I’ve hooked one that might have gone 8 lbs. it was huge but got off before I could grab it.
