Poor kid.
I love the traditional part of the game but I do not understand why balls and strikes aren’t called by a computer at this point. The technology is there.
I don’t agree with this on this play. The batter clearly vacated the box and gave himself up. I don’t understand how you can ignore such an important part of the play.

If you are referring to OCS, they may not have an 8s program but they certainly encourage holding back. You mention the 8th grade class below. The two best players have been 15 for a good bit of the school year.
It's laughable when these kids play down in age at the youth level.

I agree with this. The organizations allow those that have held back to play down but not the ones that don’t hold back. The age gaps can get too large as the kids are maturing.
