I think the pit bull is unfortunately the official breed of the shitty owner. I think decades of abuse and inbreeding has left the much of the breed dangerous.
Is it fair to characterize all pit bulls as aggressive? Not really, as responsible ownership and training are key.
I believe a permit should be had to own a pit bull and I have no problem with communities outlawing them. As a healthcare worker I've seen enough kids that have been fricked up by their neighbor's or their dipshit parent's pit bull.
