Never really heard about them before.
How epic are they really?
Do you have to wear white oakleys and drink bud light to step onboard?

Pretty nice looking boat though.

I know a guy that has one. Nice boat. He drives a lifted F250 so not sure if that is a requirement or not. He drinks white cans so you can eliminate that one.

They have great lines but the consensus is that they are
Bayliner quality.

Good friend has one. White with lime green trim. Good looking boat. I've never rode it in but he loves it. I will say that when I was in the market, I asked a salesman what he knew about them (@ Bent Marine). He says they used to sell them but kept having problems with transoms cracking so they dropped the line. His words, not mine. Take it FWIW.

I know they were having some real problems with the hulls a few years ago. People I have talked to said that they look really nice but the build quality is subpar.

They were using some kind of new tech to construct the hulls that made for lite weight hulls but apparently they are also vulnerable to cracking. Cajun Outboards has dropped the line as well.

A quick Google search of "cracked transom epic boat" turns up a thread on Hull Truth started back in 2013. 18 pages long with the last post in 2016 I believe...

My buddy has one, great layout and ride but quality is terrible. he had to send his back due to a cracked transom. Took way too long and when Cajun got it back it was in bad shape , bilge was full of fiberglass dust and pieces of the hull hey cut up. They broke his transducer off and the Cajun fiberglass guy had to fix some issues still. Needless to say they dropped epic from their dealer after this and a few other boats had the problem.

Supposively they fixed the transom issue by making it solid fiberglass now and not with a void like my buddies boat. Take this FWIW.

He kept boat and hasn't had any issues but who knows what else may come from it.

When the majority of the hulls are in neon flashy colors that should be a warning.

I have a white and Black 22SC. I can tell you that I love mine. I have read the reviews online form the Cracked Transoms before I purchased it and did some research. I have talked to a few dealers before as well. there was also a thread on here a few weeks back with some posters friends having the same issues but it seemed to be before they made some changes. For the price and options that come on their boats, you cant beat it. The quality seems Ok for now. Mine had to Go back to Epic in Jan for some warranty issues but nothing major. (A rod box was mis mounted causing some rubbing and gel coat issues, and the sealant on the underwater lights were wearing thin).

I think most of Epics problems have stemmed from putting a concept into production without fully doing model test and durability. Epic is a wake board boat company and decided one day to start making Bay boats. They acquired the old VIP warehouse in Vivian La and tweaked the molds. they took to the public and asked what fisherman wanted on their boat if they could custom build their own. They took those suggestions and developed the new line of boats. They use resin to reinforce the hull but apparently that didn't work on the transoms. They have since (Supposedly) corrected that issue and are stronger than ever. Bayou Outdoor stopped carrying them a while back due to the transom issue but it was due to a customer suing them for the boat breaking and Epic did not back them (Dealers response)

Im not sure what happened at Cajun but I have heard many of different stories so you know how that goes. I know from my dealings and visit to epic, they have also had a complete change in leadership at the factory. They took my boat in and Fixed the warranty items as well as other things I did free of charge at the factory. The people were extremely nice to me during the process and even delivered my boat back to me once complete. It looked Brand new.

The Pros:
Smooth, Dry riding boat with tons of space, storage and stock extras. Everyone that rides on it compliments the ride and how well it handles waves.

Cons: Hopefully the transom issue is fixed and I dont suffer the same fate as some others on the older models. Dealers are Leary to carry or warranty work on them. I think Blue Dot is the only one this way that still carries them. they do have some crazy color combos out there

I also do not wear white Oakleys, Drink Bud Light or wear flat bill Hats

I was just joking glad the boat works for you and I hope your issues are minimal.

They are fine looking boats I just can't deal with the bright colors and the big arse fricking logo.

Thanks man.

That first pic is of an older one. The newer ones have a smaller logo on the rear end. They are easy to remover. They make some decent color combos and some are just like who will buy that
