New guys name is Jeremiah. He showed me his whole process to ensure you get your deer back last year when I brought a couple to him.

This is somewhat of a spin off question but I think it is relevant: Is it illegal to transport a deer into Mississippi for processing? Or vice versa?

It’s legal if completely deboned.
Here is a link to the law. MDWFP

Commode, what do you have done there(at Deer Depot)? I had smoked sausage made there years ago, and I was very disappointed, never went back.

You are correct that most do not return the very deer you brought for processing.

And I can tell you with 100% certainty Vines does not either. They are one of the worst. If you’re having sausage made there, you’re getting everyone else’s deer and to much pork and other shite. They sure do always have to trim a lot of “excess” despite a deer being deboned

Smoked and italian is my usual. Give the new crew a try, I think Mr. Pete was not on his game the last year or so. I handed out smoked to a few buddies last year, and they loved it.

Wow that’s interesting. What do you mean by other shite because I actually like their sausage. I don’t get deer processed there because they are insanely high but I prefer their sausage over most others. I just get the bacon burger ground meat at Days in Watson because that’s all my family will eat

Vines runs a great business that I have been patronizing for over 25 years. I have lunch there often. They didn’t get the reputation they have by cutting corners. They are only place I ever took a deer until I started doing it myself a few years ago.

That’s why I do it myself and I enjoy it . I buy the Rebel seasoning there. I’ve been going since I was 12 years old and the restaurant was a Sears store. History is repeating itself as I’m taking my wife and kids.

Pretty sure they do. They separate out your meat into its own bin and keep track of it.

I would bet Indian mound grocery does not. They turn around time 2 years ago was 4 days. No way the are processing and smoking in such a short amount of time.

I pick up lunch at Day's when I'm in the Denham area. I could have sworn they had a sign that said something about your deer, your meat. Not 100% though. Worth giving them a call.

Is be happy right now if I could find someone to take my deer meat. Called Stacies, Vans, and a couple places mentioned on the Northshore thread and no one is taking any until next week at the earliest. You boys must be stacking ‘em up! Guess I’ll bone it out and freeze in chunks and get it processed later.

Subtle I am rich post

Tramontes is high as hell, I can not imagine what Iverstines would be, but I am sure it would be good,
