Also not very popular down here, but I've had exceptional service from all my penn reels.
Same for me with Penn as well. But I find they are pretty popular in my area, just the newer ones (Pursuit, Fierce, and Battle) are not as popular or regarded as highly as the old Spinfisher was.

That's weird. On the SC/GA coast, Penn is what all the kool kids use. Every charter captain, every weekend warrior, is wearing Hoka shoes, Maui Jim's, Aftco shorts, with Penn reels spooled with Power Pro and Suffix flouro leader.

Helly Hansen superior in every way. Warm and dry.

Okuma is reasonably priced for the quality
I greet with that, all the Okuma reels I have are tip notch. I have an Okuma reel on a perch setup that is close to 30 years old. I bought it at Songes Grand Opening sale, caught 1000s of perch and is still going strong.

Another vote for Darn Tough !!!
Their heaviest hunting socks are $35.00 plus and a bargain for the quality you get.

and Daiwa.
The first baitcaster my dad bought me was a Daiwa. I learned on that and an Abu Garcia he had at the time. Got busy with college and life and hadn't been bass fishing in probably a decade when I took my son for the first time. My dad still had my Daiwa in his shed so I went and got it and a couple old Zebco 33's that were just push button for my son.
Anyway, that old Daiwa brought back so many memories and figured I could probably upgrade with whatever new one they had so I went and bought one. Man, that one from the 90s was head and shoulders better than the new one. It was just smoother and so much easier to throw. A couple of my buddies that are really into fishing said the Daiwa quality had gone way down since I had gotten that first reel.

I have not had the same experience, especially with spinning reels. My Tatula Elite is one of my favorite bait casters ever.

To the guys saying "Darn Tough" y'all might wanna check in on their political affiliations and stances on political issues. I abuse the hell out of their warranty still but haven't bought any more pairs in years

If I did that with every company out there, there isn’t much stuff I’d be buying.

It's a solid way to curb frivolous spending

If it weren’t for frivolous spending I wouldn’t have my land and all the toys there

My basic rule for this is that if I have to go find out I don't really care. People who disagree with me politically have some of the same interests I do and I'm good with that.
Now if someone actively broadcasts that they despise me and everything I stand for, fair enough, I'll look elsewhere. I didn't go looking, they used a megaphone because they wanted me to know.

Thanks, but I don’t really care where they stand on political issues. It’s an American company that makes very comfortable socks.

I bought DT socks for a hunting trip out West last fall. Wore them once and once again back here deer hunting. Completely wore through the heels. Garbage.

Anything Power Pole makes, best customer service I've dealt with. Simms is also right up there. Local Texas built custom rods, Sarge and the folks over at Waterloo take care of their clientele. Lastly, Yeti, they have handled a couple issues with no questions asked.
How about a couple not so good ones, Costa Del Mar has gone in the crapper since being bought out. Mercury Marine has also gotten ridiculous with their warranty decisions.
