My 2016 Chevy LTZ was stolen out of my driveway in Houston last night. Only had 45k miles and 13k left to pay off.

Really frickin sucks (this is three years after they left my truck on blocks in the same driveway). And I actually live in a nice area (Oak Forrest) but it’s a little too close to some sketchy areas.

Anyway, looks like I’ll be getting a new truck soon. Have to wait 10 days before the insurance will pay out in case they find it.

Really liked my truck but not a fan of the new 2020 Chevy body styles. Suppose I’ll be looking at all the majors...F150, Dodge Ram, Tundra. But I’ve only owned chevys so looking for some input.

I definitely want a package with leather and heated/cooled seats, crew cab, 4x4. Basically the equivalent to the LTZ package. Plus would be keyless entry and push start. I don’t tow anything but I use my truck quite often at the camp and use the bed more than most in the city.

I don’t need crazy power/torque but want a 4x4 that I can use when I need it and want something reliable with decent gas mileage.

What do you guys recommend I look at package wise in the ford, dodge and Toyota. These are just completely alien to me and I need somewhere to start!

Thanks

The Tundra would require you to start at the limited trim package to get the heated seats.

Ram Laramie is that package. All I added to mine was limited slip because I didn't want 4X4. Only complaint I have has to do with the XM display. Been in a Silverado then Sierra since 07. This is my favorite truck ever.

I would rethink my position. Id either by a beater truck and continue to live there or move and buy a nice ride again. They have hit you twice......how many times are you good for?

F-150 Lariat package would fit your needs. From what I understand you can also get upgraded XLT packages that include most if not all these requirements. I just like the look of the Lariat better than XLT.

You would be looking at the Lariat package in Fords, I believe. They were selling a few XLT’s with leather, but I don’t think the seats were heated/cooled.

They also have different levels of Lariats. The base is a 500A, and it may have all that you listed. Not sure about the keyless entry and push start. I have the 501A package and it definitely has everything you want, plus some... If you want to get even more fancy, the 502A has like electric steering wheel tilt, auto windshield wipers, shinier knobs, and some other shite.

Seriously dude, two trucks getting hit at the same place? Id either get a new place to live, or at worst and old model truck that thieves will pass on.

It was the same truck lol. Worked out last time bc insurance paid so much that I was able to upgrade to after market tires and wheels and even had enough left over to add a grill guard!

Downside of living in the big city I guess. We have two young kids and will likely be moving to the burbs (Woodlands) when it’s time for them to hit school. Just sucks bc I work down town and I really don’t want to spend two hours in the car every day.

If y’all know the area, you know it’s actually pretty nice. It’s just a little too close to some sketchy parts I guess. We’re right off 43rd and Roslyn basically. I’m just chalking it up to bad luck. My wife has a 2015 Explorer Sport that’s pretty nice and they’ve never touched it. They’re building a new house across the street and I’m guessing a worker scoped it out and told some of his hombres.

Thanks for all the feedback. I really like the look of the dodge larAmie. Might have to give them a gander.

Ford Lariat has heated and cooled seats. XLT will have heated sport cloth seats that can be upgraded to leather.

I had a Lariat, then an XLT, and didn't miss the cooled seats since they both have remote start anyways.

I'm a Ford guy through and through but the new Ram's are nice and would be my second choice. I can't believe I just typed that..

I would avoid Kingwood like the plague. As people continue to develop what was once a swamp, Kingwood is only going to flood more and more often

This...We avoided Kingwood when we moved here a couple months ago for that reason. Found a nice place South of Tomball right inside the 99 loop. Nice and quiet. Way far out for thugs IMO.

I have two coworkers who live in Oak Forest and like the area but say in the past couple years, it's been getting questionable.

But like others have said, I would get an older model that gets passed up by thieves. I really love my Ram but if there's a chance for it to get stolen again, why bother.

Only one part of Kingwood floods now but I get your point.

Lariat cooled seats are primarily Nahga hide and not worth the extra $$ IMO. 302A xlt pk and prefer over my lariat but xlt is an 18.
