There’s so many choices, brands, types, etc.

I know I don’t want the hard lift type as that will limit what I can put in the bed but not sure beyond that. Care to share your experiences and suggestions?

Retrax powertrax is what I have had since 2014. Highly recommend.

Have the undercover flex. Has been good to me. Buddy had an minor issue with his, they immediately sent him a totally new cover free of charge.

I second this. I've had one on my tundra for two years now, without problems.

Nice! How good of a job does it do keeping water out?

This is what I got my mother for Christmas to put on her truck. It is super low profile in that it does not sit very high above the truck bed. Has a lifetime warranty and will support about 400 lbs. Roll n lock was another good looking one but the locking mechanism is made into a piece that has to attach to your tailgate. So when your tailgate is down there is a 1 inch high piece of aluminum running the length of the tailgate. Very uncomfortable if you want sit on the tailgate. Would also not work well if you were using ramps on the tailgate.

I just installed a bakflip mx4 on my Tacoma. Went this route because of the low profile and short bed. I would have got a retractable cover if the canister wasn't too big.

I've had about an once of water in the bed one or two times and both times it was because I had not closed the slide completely. And that is over a 5 year period.

There is also an LED light mounted on the housing the cover rolls up into that illuminates the bed very well. Also controlled from the remote, it does not automatically turn on.

Have an undercover flex II on my tundra. Love it. Easy to install and easy to use. Does a good job keeping out water and very low profile.

I will never buy anything but Bakflip. Had one on my previous truck and one on my current truck. Absolutely no water and can use the full bed.

I have an extang trifecta I think it's called. Works for me. Not a secure cover, but easy to take on and off if needed.

2 days late but I recommend this one as well if you're looking to stay inexpensive.

[link=(www.diamondbackcovers.com)]Diamondback covers[/link]

This is the ultimate in truck bed covers. you can haul a four wheeler on top of the cover, it is bulletproof from an access standpoint, and keeps water out of the bed. A couple of buddies have these already and I will have one on my next truck for sure.

The price point on those Diamondbacks makes me check up, I would love one though.
