My 03 Silverado has 204K and only needed one repair in a decade for about a grand. The V8 still tows a boat, tows a tractor and gets 18 MPG when it's just commuting 25 mi. to downtown; Great Truck.
It may be time for a new vehicle soon and I would have liked a new Chevy; but the damn GM/Chevy has ugly SQUARE wheelwells. I may end up with a foreign truck or even a Ford.

GM has used squared off wheel wells since 1973.

Although to be fair, these have sharper corners than some of the earlier versions.

Not that square. The 86 I had and the 03 were rounder than the new ones.

Its not just the wheelwells though, the Ford just looks better now.

Yeah they are pretty square. GM last used true round wheel wells in 1972.

Looks are subjective obviously. Fords look narrow to me and the front looks 'stubby' compared to the GM models. I am also not a fan of the headlight shape (although I do like the new projectors on the 150).

I've never owned anything but a GM product. That being said my next truck (which will be awhile since I have a 2010 with 43k miles on it) won't be a GM - it will be a Toyota.

i used to hate ford. i was always a chevy guy. however, i test drove a ford and fell completely in love. now, everytime i look at chevy's and dodges, they look like plastic to me.

do yourself a favor and drive a ford. it is so solid it's ridiculous.

Ford Motor owes the government $5.9 billion it borrowed in June 2009, the same month GM filed for bankruptcy. By Sept. 15, Ford needs to start paying that money back. In a government filing, the carmaker said $577 million is due within the next year, and the full amount must be paid off by June 15, 2022.

Ford also requested a 5 billion dollar loan from the Energy Dept to fund all their "fuel efficient" projects.

The only ones that can talk shite about a truck not being govt owned are Titan/Frontier and Tundra/Tacoma owners.

That being said, I really have 0 quarrels with Fords, I almost bought one back when I joined the military, an 05 black STX and it was quite nice, but I opted for a Frontier instead to save me a couple hundred on a monthly note. We also had several F150/250/350 Fords(non dually) in our vehicle fleet on base and I drove them all a lot, but the whole "we didn't take any govt money" is shenanigans.

I work nights now, so this is all for me, good day OB.

It's a nice looking truck and I have an 02 Silverado now. It's been a pretty good truck overall, but I will likely buy a Tundra next time.

This. The wife and I have had 10 GM vehicles over the years, but my next truck will be a Ford or Toyota. They also shut down our local dealer and was gonna make him buy a new floorplan to reopen. The dealership had been there for more than 60 yrs and all my vehicles had come from there. They lost many good customers.

That Atlas looks badass.
