For fishing, sit on top for sure

Very few people have Sit Ins down here. That's more of a river yak I believe.

White water yaks are all skirted sit-ins, but so are touring yaks for open ocean.
In general, sit-ins put you closer to the water for more stability and more efficient travel.
Conversely, sit on top (SOT) kayaks are more geared toward leisurely paddling and general recreation. Also often have wider hulls with greater stability for standing. They are by far the standard for fishing, but vary considerably in size and shape depending on the water you're fishing.

Caught a mess of these freshwater things in the kayak today.

Few of us gonna give grand isle a shot this weekend. Any of y’all gonna be down there?

They were on the beach this morning. I’m going down this weekend if the conditions are right.

Looks like we’ll hace a pretty good S wind for the weekend. Besides LDWF launch, where else do y’all recommend putting the yaks in? Would like to avoid the chaos of bridgeside if possible.

Anyone fishing the Midnight Madness tournament in Leeville?
I'm not fishing the tournament but am deciding between PAC, Reggio or Hopedale/Pip's for Saturday.

I just recently added a sit-in pedal drive yak to my fleet...took it for its maiden voyage in Delacroix this past Sunday. It just may very well be my favorite kayak I've ever owned. I need to get a few more trips under my belt in it to see if that opinion stands.

Are you adding a bilge pump? Is it faster?
Posted on 5/31/18 at 7:33 pm to LSUlefty
Fastest Propel kayak in Native’s line up other than maybe the Manta Ray Propel. It’s noticeably faster than my slayer propel 13. Paddled like a dream when I pulled the drive up to fish the grass in Delacroix. Plenty stable enough to stand up in.
It does have a higher profile out of the water so seemed to get blown by the wind a little easier, nothing a power pole won’t fix!
I got a manual bilge pump to keep with me, I really don’t see water in the hull being much of an issue unless it rains or I’m in big water. I plan to put it to the test the weekend at the tournament in a little bigger water to see how it does.

It’s been tough down here. You and No8 still on island?

Nah man, we read the writing on the wall early this morning and hauled arse back to Lafayette.
You down right now?

Yeah, I stopped and spoke to No8 on way out of Arties last night. It’s blowing like a sumbitch. Thought about running north and chase reds, but I just poured me a tall one.
Posted on 6/2/18 at 4:34 pm to Capt ST
Ah damn, that was you? That fool never told me
Yeah I’m ready for a solid pour now after that nap.
We need to all line a trip up when y’all got time.

1 keeper red and 3 bass out of shell beach. 3 15 7/8” reds and probably 10 trout all under 10”.
Planned on fishing out of Hopedale but I have no idea how anyone could launch a kayak alone out of their kayak launch. If you did manage to launch there’s no way you could get your kayak back loaded out of that thing.
