See how close those guys are to the trees? I would not be there.

Beautiful fish and congrats! I always tell people there are big fish in Lake Martin. People get frustrated cause they don’t catch numbers over there. Usually when I go, I’m not after numbers.
Thanks! This was for one of those Clock Out Classic tournaments we started doing. I only had my biggest Whopper Plopper but still got a few more blowups from smaller fish, had I had the smaller sizes with me I probably would've caught more.

That was back in February. When the perch fishing is on over there, some sort of signal goes out to everyone. That little lake was so crowded that day.

I am going to try to catch my first ever whopper plopper fish this weekend. Wind forecast is perfect.

I hoping to hit Big Lake Saturday weather permitting.

The Shoreline
Looks like a mix between a Slayer and Tarpon 120. Looks great. I wonder about stability, speed, tracking, etc. Would definitely give it a demo if I were in the market for an entry level yak. Good price point.

Are we sure this is their own brand? Massey's in New Orleans is carrying Tidal kayaks as well. I may be wrong but I assumed they just meant that they would be carrying kayaks in a price range that now competes with big box stores. The seat in the Shoreline and Vista look identical to the Native seat.

That’s what I gathered from the website.

This is from their article:

Buying a kayak at Pack & Paddle is known to be a great experience: Free demos every week, Love it or Trade it policy, seasoned staff, transport instruction and much more. Now, we have partnered our local expertise and industry connections to bring you a direct source line of basic kayaks at box store prices – Tidal Watersport.

It's Tidal Watersports. They have lots of retailers besides PnP.

I would've liked to read the article on their website, except it was impossible because after a few seconds something would pop up asking for my name and email for a mailing list...with no way to close out that pop up to go back to the article. Even after putting in a fake name and email to close it out, the mailing list pop up came back again a few seconds later

The X is on the top right of that box. It’s invisible, but when you scroll to the top right the little finger pops up.

Took me a while to find it. Pretty shitty practice.

I like the layout. I won't buy a kayak without pedals though.

Do y’all have a checklist for items for inshore fishing?
If I buy that Wilderness I’ve posted about, I’ll need to get an anchor, a trolley system, and maybe a better paddle. I’m not sure the length or weight of the paddle the kayak is sold with. Are stop sticks/mud sticks that beneficial? I will be fishing in some shallow water from time to time.
I’ll also need a PFD and a new ice chest. I don’t think the kayak has the space for a hard ice chest and I’ll need a soft sided one. Any suggestions regarding any of this equipment?
Other than that, all I’ll need is some free time and good weather.

I almost never use my anchor, and none of my boats have a trolley. Get a soft bag of some sort. Strictly personal decision. Walmart has a decent looking one now. I also have two sticks I've never used

I find a trolley system is more of a pain than it’s worth. I took mine off and just use a stake out pole. Since I can stand in my yak I don’t really need to worry about boat positioning
But I also rarely use my stake out pole

I use a stake out pole in the marsh and a mushroom anchor in the bay or out front. Found out the hard way that a claw anchor stuck on oysters is sure hard to pull loose from a kayak.
The California innovations bag coolers from sams/Walmart are great fish bags and cost like $8. When one gets in bad shape, toss it and get a new one.
