Striker fired 1911?

Can they really claim it to be a 1911 simply because it's loosely based on a 1911?
For the purists, of course it's a resounding NO
But for those of us who are intrigued, I'm interested in seeing it...

That is where the guide rod and spring assembly are housed. According to the MFG they place it there closer to the axis of the trigger to help flatten out the gun and keep the bore axis low.

I'm no 1911 expert (I own a few, but that's about it).
Having a "1911 style trigger" (with an optional trigger safety, no less), and an optional thumb safety -- with no grip safety -- on a hammerless pistol -- is pretty far removed from a 1911.
Buying a new design from a start-up company that's a "women-owned business" wouldn't inspire enough confidence for me to buy one for self-defense. After it's been on the market for 4-5 years, and if it has a reliable track record ............ maybe.

It actually does have a beaver tail grip safety. Look closely at the first pic.

Not a 1911
I'd have to agree here.
I don't think I'll ever be able to accept a striker fired pistol as a 1911....hell might as well put a beaver tail on a Glock 21 and call it a 1911 (yea thats probably over simplifying it but not by a helluva lot).
I mean if it even looked a little like a 1911 (yea the beaver tail just doesn't do it) then I'd at least not laugh as hard.

I think it's going to be awesome, I can't wait to get one. Finally some innovation in the gun world.

Once all the fireworks over the comparison die down, I think people are going to love it.

Is it a select fire with safe/semi auto/jerk me off?
If not, it's going to fail.

That thing couldn't be more queer looking if it was designed by Rex.

Absolutely 1000% agree. It's rare now to see a gun with some new features that don't fall in line with everything else. Props to Hudson for innovating and trying something new. This is the first new-release metal-framed handgun that isn't a complete piece of crap (I'm talking to you Remington R51!). Well, I'll at least reserve my judgment until a detailed test comes out.
