Not too concerned. It's a great way to explore your mind and the world. As long as he is smart about it and remembers that the first rule of tripping is to remember that you are just tripping.
It's probably better if he buys them rather than picking them so he doesn't accidentally eat the wrong kind.

Funny how a shroom's post takes off on the OB. It's not coincidental I think that shrooms are best done while outside in nature. Take a walk in the park with some friends...Audubon is one of my favorites.
ETA: I think I would flip my shite if I went fishing or hunting while tripping. I don't think I could even encounter a fish face to face much less touch it and get a hook out of it's mouth. Don't think it'd be a good idea to have a gun in my hands either.
