Silverado door leak help

Having issues with my passenger side door leaking on my 08 Silverado during heavy rain. Leak is soaking the carpet on the front of the door underneath the glove box. I have replaced the door weatherstrip and drip weatherstrip on the frame of the door and still having the same problem. Anyone have trouble with this or has any ideas? Thanks

Probably not the door. Coming in behind the dash.

Have you ever had a windshield replaced?

You have a sunroof? The drain on that side is probably clogged or kinked

Open the hood and look way back by the firewall where the hood hinges are located on the body and that big black plastic cowling is located.
On the side of the cowling by the hinges right where the fender ends by the cab, run your hand down in that gap. There should be a flap on the side of that cowling that allows water to drain away from the windshield. That sometimes gets clogged with debris like leaves or that pollen crap oak trees drop and that will cause the water to back up and leak into the cab.
There is a drain on both the driver's and passenger's side of that plastic cowling.

I had a Ford do the exact thing. It was the windshield seal. I had just replaced the windshield and it started. Better get it fixed...the leak ran into the GEM module and shorted it out. Caused all kinds of gremlins to show up.
I'd be willing to bet it's your windshield seal.

Same problem - but Tundra. Two problems occuring simultaneously as described by both Hermit Crab and Gumbo.
Had windshield replaced and there was a small spot on passenger side not sealed properly - I discovered that when driving truck through a high pressure car wash and watched water pour though the spot not sealed. Windshield company fixed that ASAP and was very apologetic. Run your truck through a drive through car wash and check for leaks.
Next hard rain truck still still leaked, and the problem was a described by Gumbo. Easily fixed - clear those drains under the cowling near the door hinges. This problem is very common if you park your vehicle outside under trees while at home or at work, so now I routinely check and clear those drainage ports - and yes my truck is parked outside under trees most days.
Your post made walk outside and check the carpet in my truck following the very hard and intense rain early this morning - dry as a bone.

Do you have any play in the door? Can you lift up on it while open? Any movement? It’s the door pins.

Mine just started dripping on me last week on drivers side by emergency brake. Cleaned the debris out over the weekend and that seems to have resolved it.

There are a number of drain holes that might be plugged that could result in the carpet getting wet.

My rear passenger pillar was leaking into the seat belt pulley.
Had to bring it in.

My 08 Silverado was leaking badly. Looked at everything and couldn’t find the problem. Replaced my windshield and no more leak.
