Evidently my cousin had been on a tear about squeezing out 1-2 mph more out of his already stupid fast boat.

I've never understood this. I know guys that will spend 5K if they have to to make the boat go a few mph faster to be faster than their buddy. Anything over 70 is lagniappe, and all that money for a speed increase you won't even notice just seems dumb to me.

I've been in the upper 80s in a bullet. Not that scary. Just feels like you're ab to fly out the boat

It disappoints me that our White Lake go-devil bridge incident did not make the cut. I guess since our top speed in a 15' bateau with 23HP go-devil was only about 15kph, no real chance of death. If you had been on the handle of said motor, it might be different. F-ing go-devils are unreasonably dangerous per se. Waaaaaay worse than a 3 wheeler.

Was in a bass tourney on Lake Amistad. I was the nonboater and got paired up with a Triton Team member. He had prefished the lake the whole week and had his trail marked on GPS. We couldnt see 10ft in front of us. Wide open throttle across that lake. Got to one of the bridges and could only see green and red lights strung out in a row across the top of the fog. We had to hit a green one cause the red ones marked the concrete legs of the bridge.

Was also in a hale/lightning storm on Caney. That lightning was hitting all around us. Waves were getting bad and the hale was marble size. That sucked.

I also have fallen out of a boat drunk as hell in the intercoastal doing about 30 at 2am while froggin, not fun

My buddy who was in earlier story also was on a charter offshore that had a livewell pump break and was a few minutes from sinking until a crew boat from the rig brought noticed what was going on and brought them a huge pump to get the water out

Hull strike from a submerged log. Fiberglass boat. Took on water immediately. Headed to nearest beachhead. Made it. Water was up to the seats. Couldnt believe I didn't sink it. Softball sized hole that I reglassed. Still have the knot that remained stuck in the hull.
Amite River, two bends upriver from Big Johns.

So some dipshit had one of those Myette Point one cylinder putt-putt boats(LINK and naturally he had to be first into the lake in front of 3 impatient MFs in bass boats and Alx's new center console. Side note: Alx scared the shite out of me in his Skeeter every time we went the way he hauls arse around these curves in Saline, to get to the lake. Well, Alx knows some cut, and he makes a move to get around the putt-putt, and the bayboat doesn't turn on a dime like his skeeter, so the back ends spins out and we end up headed for some trees. He throttled down and it never really got too scary, but i wonder why the frick the kill switch was not attached to his person.

With his stance on harnesses, this doesn't surprise me
