Finally made another pass close to boat and saw that the operator was dragging behind the boat beneath the water with what turned out to be a bowline wrapped around his leg, DOA.
DAMN....talk about worst case scenario. I always have a knife on me maybe two, everytime I step onto a boat.

We hit the sandbar about a mile from Whiskey Pass on the backside of the island. I never knew a boat could stop that fast

Not me personally but my wife got caught in a shite storm while in the ocean for some offshore fishing. I'd imagine that would be scary to be so far out and have a storm like she and her father described.

About 10 years ago two good friends and I were fishing in dularge on a large school of trout in a 14ft express. They had a little storm move in on us and we were all facing one direction casting when a wave hit us the right way. The boat tilted and one of my buddies fell out, water started pouring in over the side. We were taking in a shite ton of water and my buddy was trying to get back in the boat but we were filling up to fast. Instinct set in, so I threw him a life jacket, cranked up the boat, told my other buddy to dump all the fish out of the ice chest and start bailing. Thank god I was able the boat on top enough to get the water to start coming out after pulling the plug. It took a good good 15 minutes to get the water out enough for me to go recover my other buddy who was still floating in the lake. It scared the shite out of us and made me get a larger boat.

Both of mine were on Sam Raburn, my brother and I were fishing the McDonalds in a 16'9" Stratus and got caught in 4' seas. I chipped a tooth and fricked up my shoulder but we made it back. Another time we were in my Triton 21 and took about a foot of water over the bow doing 50 or 60 in 2-3' seas. I went to turn my bilge pumps on and neither worked. They had came apart due to the rough water. I had to idle for a long ways to get to shelter and get the water out of the boat.

Running a Channel on Caddo at about 60 when the prop let go, almost hit a pumping unit.
