^^^^ this and falling out the boat in BFE and getting left take the cake. Being left takes it actually. That would def be a coming to Jesus meeting.

There are spacers for set back and trim tabs. I believe you are talking about two different things but not certain.
Yall are absolutely correct about people over trimming. If your prop doesnt lift enough, get one that does, dont keep trimming.
Im a little different beast though, running 2 inches above the pad. I sling a tail without trimmimg at all. Besides, when you mash on a 330, somethings gonna fly.

It's physics, right? Assuming the same friction (boat lift), you are doing less "work" spraying water up and back rather than just straight back behind the boat

And idk the whole spacer thing... That's a question for someone that knows about em.. I don't think they are that easy to find

What is a 330 (hp?) and what are u running it on?

And yes, it is physics, but with alot of variables because different hulls carry so different.

Mine involeved a Mercury 7.5 and a wide arse aluminum boat of my Grandpas.

He lived on Lake Bruin, down on the end by the canal. On the east side is a ton of cypress. My cousin and I had never been allowed to use the boat, but at 11 or so my grandpa said OK.

We left out and went and pulled it on bank behind the cypress trees kinda by the state park. We chased armidillos and such.

My Grandpa had put a board across the back because there wasnt a place to sit, it overhung each side about 10 inches. Couldnt get motor started. Didnt know what I was doing, choked, unchoked, put in gear, etc.

Bastard sounded off, wide open throttle, in gear!! Heading right for cypress trees, steered it perfectly betweed two..boat cleared, board DID NOT CLEAR, damn board judy chopped my legs out from under me, almost knocking me out of boat. Boat is out of control, heading for cypress trees again. Steer right of one, missed it but overhead branch knocks the shite out of me again. Luckily at this time the prop hit a stump/cypress knee and shut off.

We live.

I was about 16 we were just screwing around on the river with a little seado boat and a jet ski. Of course my buddy on the jet ski thought he would be cool and spray us on the boat with the wake of the jet ski. Third time he tried it he cut it too hard and did a 180 stop right in front of us, we were running about thirty miles per hr and hit the jet ski head on. I could see my buddy jump off the jet ski just in time, he missed losing his leg/ life by about six inches. I guarantee he had gravy in his trunks. It smashed the foot rail of the jet ski pretty good, my buddy told his dad he hit a dock with it.......sure he bought that.

To this day, any time a jet ski cuts infront of me while I'm driving my boat I think of it.

One of the guys I sail with single hands his boat all the time. Last year he had been swinging at anchor drinking beer when he decided to leave for the day. He's got a little 3.5hp Mercury or whatever those tiny things are, (Doesn't take much to move a displacement hull). Anyway, these things are always in gear, if you want to go in reverse, you turn it around. And he had it cranked.

When he started it, he was off balance and it threw him in the water. Since he was alone he grabbed the boat fast but what he got was the motor. He actually killed the motor with his lap firmly in the prop.

It looked really, REALLY ugly.

Riding in rough seas with a can of yard guard on the console. Hit a big wave and the yard guard bounced off console hitting the deck and exploding between my legs. I was covered in white foam. Looked over at my dad and there was blood everywhere. The can had hit him in the leg and then almost hit my g/f who was sitting in the back. Then she starts bitching asking what I threw at her.

Hit a sandbar one time going 40mph.....nothing like running into a mud flat.

That's a badass looking boat. Love the color pattern. Very similar to a bullet I was looking at (too many hours for the price)

No trolling motor?

I've run aground twice at TB. Once in N/S 4(I think) and once cutting the bend in Springhill boat lane. Neither were fun, but neither were all that scary.

you could probably out run most people on here with just your trolling motor

Alx, it's not that scary... If you're holding on.. It's when u come to a stop and are 100's of feet from deep water and it's ankle deep where u are that it sucks

Have had my share of scary rides in boats too small for the seas but thankfully none like some others have shared, lots to be learned! One thing I will share for those running tiller handle motors or even smaller console-rigged flat boats, etc. Wear your effin kill cord and lifejacket! Think it's law now though?? Was out on an afternoon duck scouting trip a few years back and saw a small flat going in circles from a long way off.....uhh ohh. Called 911, got to the boat, no one was in it and searched all over around it and didn't see anyone in the water. Finally made another pass close to boat and saw that the operator was dragging behind the boat beneath the water with what turned out to be a bowline wrapped around his leg, DOA. I do a lot of duck scouting solo in my 16ft flat and never leave the dock without killcord and jacket on after that experience.
