Saw 2 of these at Bass Pro yesterday in .308 and 6.5. They look pretty slick. Is it legit for $1200?

They are good to go. Bunch of companies are starting to do pre-fit barrels for them now. I personally like the Tikka TacA1 but the RPR is cheaper and shoots very well from everything I have seen.

Ruger recently released an updated version of the Precision Rifle.

Shot my FIL's in .308 this weekend. Only shot it enough to sight it in but it was a tack driver for sure. Pretty fun gun to shoot

- took the picatinny rail off the hand guard to make more room for large objective scopes
- made the bolt shroud out of aluminum rather than plastic for durability purposes
- added their own muzzle brake that comes stock with the rifle, was just a threaded end cap before.
OP, yes these are well worth it. A great way to get into longer range shooting without having to pay custom rifle prices. I got mine locally for $1250 which is a good deal looking at what people are still asking on gunbroker. I went 6.5 because it's what they had in stock but would've gotten a .308 if they would've had it. Mainly just because I like .308 so much, you'll be happy with either caliber.

the reviews (both consumer & industry) on this rifle have been nearly 100% positive. ruger nailed this one, both in design and in price point

Get one in 6.5. Don't think about it, just do it.

One of my friends just picked on up in 6.5 CM. Looking forward to shooting it w/ him as soon as his scope comes in.

I wish I could
I've spent too much money on guns over the past several months

Stop thinking, you'll hurt something. Now, go buy one. Git.

3k in the last 8 months is enough

Lightweight, I dropped about 10k in firearms/accessories in 2015 and 2016 each. It's your civic duty to buy that rifle, put some nice glass on it, take it to the range at least 5x/month. Be an American and not the scum sucking Commie twat-waffle downvoting my posts here.

Oh, well if you put it that way....

Definitley legit.
Not my favorite but I'm left handed and hard to please.
For a righty its a very very good value.
