You’d be opening yourself up to a law suit right nicely, by doing so.

Yeah I’m not sure I believe the original story.

I would be interrogating the frick out of the survivor.

Old man becomes John Wayne and kills 2 guys but somehow becomes completely incompetent and the 3rd guy takes his gun and hits him with it?

Survivor doesnt shoot him with his own shotgun?

Time to search firearm purchase records and see who owned the guns that were recovered.

The part that I don't understand is that apparently that area is marshy, and the old man's footprints were found on the "shore" but some guys are claiming that "shore" is just a marsh island or whatever and like a 15 minute boat ride to any homes or roads. So the chances of him walking out wet aren't good.

But his boat was found 200 yards away from the blind? Why not swim to your boat and boat out?

I doubt the guy had dementia.

Unless he is hiding out in some secret spot with dry clothing and a roof over his head he is dead now. It's hard to survive night after night outside in the winter. It's not as though he has started a fire. He dead.

Absolutely but why go to shore and not to his boat? No reason to survive out there if his boat was within walking/ swimming distance?

Only thing I can think of is since he was a regular and this was a regular blind, that someone he knew hunted around there and picked him up? Seems very possible.

Maybe he had dementia and didn't think to swim to his boat, who knows. Certainly a slim chance.

Or, and it seems crazy to think the much earlier post saying the 3rd guy that survived is the shooter maybe true.

I'm leaning more and more to something crazy like the 3 guys got into an argument in the duck blind and the "survivor" shot them. David Vowell drove his boat over to check on them and old boy survivor killed him and disposed of his body. Then drove the 2 guys that were shot to the ramp like he was the savior. Seems far fetched but nothing here is making sense.

If they all had 12 gauges and shot their guns that day, I'm not sure how you would be able to determine which gun shot anyone?

Different size shot, different brand of ammo, different types of powder.

Have you never watched CSI Breaux Bridge Baw?
Lone Survivor better have a solid story that matches what forensics puts together.

Not sure how deep it is where his boat was, but you know how hard it is to climb in a boat in deep water at 70 years old?

Hell, I couldn't pull my fat arse up in a boat at 30 much less 70.

They can do it. Put those shells under a microscope and they'll find unique patterns on them.

Who in the hell gets into an agreement in a duck blind like that? What could be the subject? Did someone eat the last ding dong?

Yep sole survivor should have this thing buttoned up completely if he had an honest tale to tell. He’s the guy to interrogate.

Has anyone actually read or otherwise heard this guy's actual story? Or is everyone saying this just basing it on rumors from here and the TN forum? I guess my point is, how in the world do you know he doesn't have his story buttoned up completely?

Sure, but the water was waste deep. He could have walked the boat to the duck blind or walked to the boat to shore where he was supposedly last seen.

ETA: my point is the ‘survivors’ story doesn’t add up. The newest release in the news is there is no motive and David Vowell went crazy. Then he disappeared after last being seen on land?

None of this is normal. 2 are dead, one is missing, and the only guy alive is blaming it all on a missing guy getting dementia that his family is quiet about. Something is fishy.

The news release with quotes from the local police said there is no motive, that this seemingly happened for no reason. That there wasn’t an argument and that David Vowell drove his boat to their duck blind about 9 and and asked to join them and then shot them.

To be fair, the survivor either witness his 2 buddies killed or killed then so being shaken up would be expected.

The family being quiet part seems extremely odd. It seems like they would want to speak out if he really does have dementia as a plea to help find him, and on the other hand you would think if he didn't have dementia they would want to speak out about that part being bullshite and the other guy can't be trusted. Could it be they aren't saying anything because they think he's capable of snapping like that? Maybe they are scared or just don't want the spotlight on them

Maybe they think he is still alive and fear for themselves if they speak.
