Recommend me a corded circular saw in the $120 range.

About time for an upgrade. Best rated circular saw at lowes is a hitachi for $90 but before looking at the reviews I wouldn't have looked twice at it. Am I missing out on hitachi tools? There are also a lot of up and coming tool brands that I can't think of off the top of my head but I see them with their fancy end cap displays. I have mostly Milwaukee and rigid tools now but I'd rather not go to Home Depot because I swore them off, the Covington store has the worst customer service.
Side note, anyone use and Festools? They look nice and get great reviews, their stuff just isn't in the budget right now.

It is going to be out of your price range, but a Worm Drive SkilSaw is what I have. Worm Drive = Goat IMO.

Hitachi makes a great saw for the money. Makita makes a very good saw too. Festool is a waste of money unless you invest in their whole system as a professional or a serious hobbyist. You don't need the weight of a worm drive nor are they better, two different saws for different users.

I got a nice Bosch worm drive from a pawn shop for $100. It cuts great. Though at first it sucked because I had the blade on backwards. )loads differently( Cuts better than any of my other circular saws. (I have a few)
Worm drive is worth the price. Never kicks back, even when going through an inch of ancient wood.

First off Festool. Great at dust collecrion, not much better than anything else at cutting. The only tool I want from them is their Domino, but at $900 as a casual woodworker I just can't pull the trigger.
As far as circular saws go, I have a Craftsman cuts great with a good blade on it, the stock blade was shite. I have an issue of Woodworker Mag here, Makita 5007MGA was top rated at $160, Rigid R3205 was top value. Worst was the Kobalt K15CS-06AB.
What are your intentions for a circle saw? If you going to be breaking down plywood I would get a track saw or make a few door boards. I made an 8', 5' and 3' out of a 3/8" sheet of Birch plywood. I can get some really straight cuts with it.

Just general woodworking needs and I'll be building a shed this winter.

I wouldn't spend the money on a Festool

I have a Rigid and Dewalt. I like the ergonomics of the Rigid much better. The Dewalt just feels like a heavy hunk of plastic

Do you already own a compound miter saw? If not, spend the money on that and buy an inexpensive circular saw.
I rarely use my circular saw compared to my chop saw. Basically only use it to rip plywood, and then I have to use a guide to get a straight cut.

I know you said corded but i love my battery powered dewalt. It's great for me considering the majority of my cutting is done with my table saw, miter saw, or track saw.

I don't know how the quality is now, but I have had a Makita since '89. It has been dropped, blade bent, and the guard broken off. I've cut thousands of boards with it, and the switch finally went out last weekend. It's now constantly on when plugged up, and I don't plan to repair it, but it is the absolute best tool I've ever owned.

I have been running a $20 Rayobi with a good blades. I cant tell the difference between it and a dewalt or skill.

Makita, think they are around 110$ or so now.
Good luck with a worm drive, heavy as shite and big time torque on start up. They take getting used to and as said are costly.

Makita is great for fine cutting like plywood.
Skil 50th Anniversary Magnesium body worm drive made for framing.
Worm drive saws are for rough framing and unless you are buying the saw for that you do not need one they are monsters.
Makita, is the saw brand I have sold a lot of since 1997 to finish carpenters and cabinet shops.

I disagree 100%. Those heavy SOBs have there place, BUT, if someone is just a woodworker, not building houses, using one for a living, there are well over kill.
I have a few and my go to is a free Craftmen that I been having about 10 to 12 years. And yes, I do a shite load of wood work.

Dominos are for sure nice.
If you want to see a shop with a nice Festool setup check out Matt Lane on youtube. He's. Good ole baw from Mississippi that uses a lot of Festool stuff.
