This is my third weekend hunting and I'm not seeing anything or even hearing shots - and it has sounded like the Ukrainian front some years. I shot a pig yesterday afternoon and it was the first time I put a gun to my shoulder.

There's no point to this post.... just complaining.

I shot an 8pt nov 21. Since then I havent seen a buck and only small yearlings. They went nocturnal. Hoping the rut gets them back out in a few weeks

Seems slow for everyone. I've usually done over a dozen skull mounts by now. I've done 2 so far.

Same story in SW MS. Shot a doe opening weekend and nothing since. Been seeing plenty of young deer but seems like the mature ones have gone nocturnal. Talked to the processor around us and he said it’s abnormally slow. The deer that are being brought in are all small. Also hoping the rut kicks em into gear in the next couple weeks.

In the past 48 hours I’ve got daylight pictures of the big deer that have been nocturnal.
Hang in there boys

I’m sitting in the bed at home with 102 fever from the flu this weekend seeing all kinds of daytime picks of bucks. Just my luck.

Go get your flu shot. You do not want this.

I think the drought did a number on the deer size wise

I’m not sure how it affected the deer, but it seems to have somehow. To me that behavior is way off it’s beyond my understanding but when you have the extreme heat and drought that we had there has to be some affect on a deer heard.

I hate blaming everything on the drought but it has been an off year for us, we have no acorns and the whole year has been slow as far as movement is concerned.
The next two weeks is prime time for us so hoping it kicks off, daughter went to after hours and has the flu. I should have just stayed at the camp for a week aint got for no flu.

I've shot 4 does this year and the biggest was 104 lbs. Usually kill 1 or 2 over 120.

Member killed one yesterday evening 1.5yr old it looked like it had no fawns with it and no milk, weighed 120 pounds but zero fat on the hams or backstraps. Our club average is running 130pounds for does

I’ve thought the few I’ve seen this year have looked poor, and the one I shot was just under 100, I don’t think I've ever shot a doe that was under 100 pounds, separate from me screwing up shooting a yearling.

Same here. The old timers say it’s because of the poor harvest season this year. Nothing grew this year like normal.

This is the second weekend in a row I get photos on my trail cam app of deer frolicking around eating my corn during daylight hours… while I’m sitting in another stand a half mile away seeing nothing but squirrels and crows. Heard zero shots last weekend and just one this morning.

I haven’t been yet due to new baby. But I’m seeing tons of big doe’s on camera. No rib cages showing either. One was so fat we thought she was pregnant

Quiet for me too. Was seeing deer in food plot at night then caught a big bobcat in food plot and haven't caught a picture of a deer since. Is this related?

My son and I each saw bucks yesterday afternoon. That surprised me as most of the movement has been at night for the last couple weeks.
