I have a Kubota L4600 with bucket loader. Bought it a few months ago. Love it. It’s a 2013 had 257 hrs on it and paid $15900. If your in the Baton Rouge area look up Terry’s tractors. He has great deals on used Kubota and JD.

Your grandchildren will be using that tractor.

4x4 and front end loader are priorities after that start with the implements you need, figure out what size bush hog, 6’ will probably be your answer, disc, tiller, box, etc. then look to see what size tractor and how much PTO hp is recommended and from there decide how big a tractor you want. Green, orange, red should be your first choice and I would look at all of them and see who can get you the best deal on the package, Nick Mayfield at Mississippi Ag ?(601) 544-6461?, put the best package together for me and went over and beyond after the sale. Also, you want to buy your tractor in Mississippi, you only have to pay 1.5% sales tax if you state it for farming (can save thousands) and unlike an automobile where the tax is.l calculated by the parish it will be tilted in a tractor is taxed where the transfer takes place

Thank you for the information

I agree 100% on the Fel and 4wd. The loader is a great tool and you will find many uses for it that you’d never thought of. My tractor has a mechanical shuttle and I’m please with that. I didn’t have any need for hydrostatic. Get water in the tires also if you planning on using the loader a good bit. Mine has water and still gets tippy without an implement on the back.
As far as the tax break, make sure you can prove you are farming something if they ever come back on you. I’ve heard they’ve tightened up on that tax break a good bit.
If you wanna look at JD there is a Southern Ag dealership in Summit. I’ve heard nothing but good about them.

I have a 2003 John Deere that I've had for a long time for my farm in Oklahoma. It is a beast and I've worked it pretty hard. The only thing that broke is the POS fiberglass hood but I had a metal one fabricated at the metal shop.

Nah, maybe like 30 max.
And you will be a slave to the land. 50hp and even bigger is better.
As someone else posted, you going to need something to tow that tractor/trailer.

My dad and I bought 180 acres year and half ago
I had a 32 hp FEL Kubota. 6’ Bush hog and 5’ 3 point hitch.
I maintain 4 food plots, various trails and roads and wanted to redo the duck pond and disc about 20 acres in it every few years.
After year 1, I now own a 70hp with FEL. 4wd. Batwing bushhog and pull behind disc.
That other shite is fine for little dink and dunk food plots but not for managing any reasonable sized property.

Tundra won't be enough?

I wouldn't want to tow a 50+hp tractor with FEL and 6' Bush hog with a 1/2 ton. I did it once in a pinch for about 15 miles and it wasn't fun. The tongue weight was way too heavy and stopping was on the sketchy side.

Tundra will be ok if the camp is a short distance and if tractor will stay at camp. Towing it back and forth will be too much for the Tundra.

shite. Camp is 1hr45mins away.

Only way to clip 30 ac. Nothing less. Like I said, don't be a slave to your land.

And with a 1/2 ton, air bags too!

Just bought a new Kubota M6S-111with cab, air, blue toof radio and FEL Also got a 15’ bush hog brand batwing mower. It’s doing great at our duck camp. Bush hogging, discing and farm chores. They have 0% fianancing for 5 years as well, which is nice. Need a discc and a big sprayer ASAP.

Make sure to have the 5.7 engine. Anything less and you're going to have difficulty.

I have a mahindra. No complaints except I wish I had a cab. Also get bigger than u need. No such thing as too much tractor.
