Just remember, when it comes to tractor size it is kind of like your Johnson, the one you have does just fine, but everyone wishes they had a larger one.

I’d lean even to a 75hp or up. Get an old 90s John Deere before they went crazy with the electronics.

this would be my recommendation as well...that is a hell of a lot of land to keep up with.

ETA: just realized that this is a bumped thread!

Everything He said and learn how to replace air filters and how & where to lube. These play MAJOR role in the life of the Tractor!

I know where there is a damn near brand new 93hp MF with new disk, square baler, grapilator and front end loader for 53K.

4x4, AC cab, with 233 hours, hell of a deal if looking for a tractor.

I do 23 with a 5' and it usually takes close to a day depending on how tall.

Damn son that’s moving! I cut 24 acres with a Kubota mx5200 and a 7’ bush hog and it takes me right at 12 hours to cut it. I usually break it up into 2 days.

What is the secret?

Depends on the lay of the land and the type undergrowth you are bushhogging.

No way in hell I’d bushhog 30 acres with a 5’ but maybe I’m just spoiled.

Yes you’re spoiled

But I concur it’s much easier and more enjoyable with a bigger tractor. Just depends on how long you want to take getting it done
