Magnum Research Desert Eagle. And no, not because they can be had for $700.

I will second the recommendation for CZ75 if the OP is interested in a DA/SA full or mid size 9mm.

Its definitely going to exceed his budget though. He might be able to get a P07 Duty for $450.

You should get one of the new S&W Governor.

The Governor uses 45 ACP, 45 Colt, and 410 Shotshell ammunition.

Has S&W ever had an original idea? They have two very obvious ruger and taurus copies out right now.

I always read about round count and load type restrictions with s&w revolvers due to frame stretch, timing issues, and other crap like that. Ive never read about someone shooting out a ruger, freedom arms, or one of those other companies.

I think their DA revolvers are a colt design IIRC.

Dont get me wrong, their revolvers are fineeeeee, but id rather have a ruger.

They make a quality revolver... but they are also the King of Ripoffs according to Chuck Hawks, fwiw. Personally, I think I'd buy Ruger or Colt (if I could find it and afford it) before S&W.
