So I've decided I want to buy a pistol and it will be my first pistol purchase. My dad has owned several pistols over the years and I have had experience with a lot of different kinds. My max price range is $450 but I really don't want to go over $400. Price of ammunition really isn't an issue and would prefer a .40 but a 9mm would work also. Im wanting something medium frame because I want to be able to conceal it if I need to but this gun will mainly just be truck pistol.

I've been looking at the Taurus 24/7 Pro C .40

And also the Taurus Millennium Pro Pt140 .40 cal

Im not really looking to only buy Taurus' but they are just in the right price range and they seem to be popular.

Also, what is process of buying a gun online? Do I just have it shipped to a gun store near me and then buy it from them?

I've had a few people tell me that and also some people that swear by them for the price that they're at.

Second. I would consider a Taurus revolver, but I have not heard good things about their pistols. I've heard some of them feel really sloppy/loose when you rack them.

You can get a Ruger P Series 9mm or .40 for <$400.

I almost bought a P95, but I found a deal on a Beretta that I couldn't pass up.

I have looked at them online from time to time but haven't done much research. I don't see them much at gun shops around here. Most places online carry Clock, Sig, Beretta, and Kimber and few Rugers.

Sig makes a 9mm they sell at Academy for right around $400. I'd look into that one as well.

Sig makes some badass guns.

Any thoughts on the P239? Just looked it up and saw they do have it in .40 S&W

For the love of god don't buy a taurus... If you must have a sub-comp get a glock 26 or MP shield.

I agree with this. I would be seriously looking at getting one if it had ambidextrous controls. I may still give it a serious look since I'm looking to keep it in my truck.

Don't get a Taurus semi. If that academy deal on that sig 9 is true I would go for it. Plus 9 is a lot cheaper to shoot.

They usually have the Sig 2022 9mm for that price.

Still, I'd get a Taurus.

All you anti Taurus people make me laugh. I have a Taurus PT Millenium Pro in SS and love it. I have cycled nearly 1000 rounds through it without a single issue. It is small, accurate, dependable and has the most comfortable grip of any semi I have held in my hand.

Get the sig that academy has for 399.99. It's better than anything else in that price range in my opinion.
