I got completely off of a fishing forum because of him before he even started his charter business. You can only take so much arrogance and ignorance rolled into the same package before you want to commit a felony.

CCA waited til it got to the leg. and then voiced their opinion against the proposal. You'd think being a conservation association they'd be PRO-conservation but nothing surprises me out of that group these days. David Cresson only cares about the hand that lines his pockets.

Hey, here to holler…..the pogey boats got pushed back 1 mile. That deflection technique is so worn out. It would be great if LA anglers started thinking for themselves instead of parroting every idea they hear from bubba t on the Facebook pages

Woopdie fuggin doo

I saw one pushing nets in camanada pass a couple years ago. Who's going to enforce it? Why just 1 mile? Why are they allowed in state waters at all?

They don't respect the regulations in the first place. Even if they do respect the one mile rule, it's pissing on a bonfire. They need to be out of state waters entirely, just like the rest of the coastal US.

"18-inch minimum size limit total length and a 24-inch maximum size limit total length. The red drum's daily take and possession limit will be reduced from five to three fish per day. "

LDWF biologist data shows redfish are being overfished. They proposed a minimum of a 35% reduction in harvest to recover the redfish stock over a 30 year period. There was a LDWF meeting where many folks showed up to voice their opinions and the majority voiced that they wanted to recover the fishery faster than 30 years. Therefore they decided on a more aggressive recovery plan of 55% reduction in harvest which would recover the fishery in I think 7-9 year time frame if I remember correctly.

CCA should have been at that LDWF meeting and voiced their opinion there instead of waiting until it got to legislator and starting the whole damn process over again.

But to answer your question, why wouldn't I want the redfish stock recovered in 7-9 years vs 30? I have a 4 year old daughter that I would love to experience a fully recovered redfish stock by the time she is a teenager vs 34 years old.

All I have to go buy is the science/data though, i'm not going to pretend to be an expert on the situation.

What mark makers said is exactly right.
With redfish, escarpment rate is the number to pay attention to.
We have a decimated slot population in LA. It’s bad. Those slot fish are the breeders of the future.

We need a certain amount of those slot fish to reach 27ish inches to to repopulate a dwindling breeding stock. It really doesn’t matter how many rat reds are in the mash if they never reach sexual maturity.

The current problem, as I understand it, is there are fewer fish escaping the slot length (reaching sexual maturity) than what is being lost in the spawning stock.

I'm about to start checking the AIS tracking again on these things.
I fish fairly often out of GI and we catch trout way out there, big trout. You know fat breeders.

Every other state got rid of those boats except us. Send them down to Mexico or something.b

Neither, lol. My life will be better the day pogie boats are wiped off the planet.

I’m just gonna call out hypocrites and bs logic when I see it. Blame my grandma or something but I just can’t take ignorance
