Are you familiar with the rampant thread stretching problem plaguing the country today? Torque those things to spec and you'll be a lot happier.

Makita makes a brushless motor for their 18v's. You cannot possibly go wrong with one of those.

Yep

I don't have a torque wrench though, and my truck has launched a tire before because the lugs were loose. Never again.

I don't put em as tight as I can, but they are tight enough to need a breaker bar to get them off.

How many lugs have you stretched? Rotors warped?

Eta: I have burned up 3 Ryobi drills and 2 Bosch drills. Do not buy. I got my Makita set off of amazon for $169. It was a drill, the small cordless impact for screws, a light, and a 30min fancy charger. It has those lightweight batteries

If I had the money, I would get Milwaukee, but that was a sweet deal.

Must have tiny T-Rex arms.

I did it a couple of times on my Tacomas, and had shops do it multiple times. It got to the point where I had like 5 spares all of the time. Haven't done it since because I just lean on the lug wrench and go one hard kick down. Not too much torque with that

I don't bear down on it or anything. I have a 4 foot cheater pipe in my truck and a 32" breaker bar. I would be completely destroying everything if I was putting them as tight as I could.

You're not getting them off with a cordless impact though.

I've had Dewalt 18v for years, just acquired a Dewalt 1/4" impact. So now unless I'm drilling holes my drill just gathers dust. For screws and such the impact is so much more convenient only it doesn't have a clutch so you have to be careful not to overtighten and strip out small screws and nuts.

My dewalt 14v has lasted 8 years. Chucks aren't the best. But batteries last good.

I ha some cheap Ryobi and they lasted about 5 months and the batteries crapped out.

Milwaukee also good in my expeiriece.

But honestly Craftsmen 19.6 with extended warranty is and has been my choice for the last several years

Performance is good and should I need sears to honor the warranty it won't be a problem.

I have 3
Just got another at Xmas cause it was too inexpensive to pass up. 59 for drill lith

I have Dewalt 18 volt and 12 volt but the batteries on them are dead.

I bought Bosch 9.8 volt LiOn driver and Impact. These are used 90% of the time around the house. If I need something bigger I bought a couple of yrs ago the Bosch 18 volt LiOn. Never had a problem with any of them.

How do they work?

Take the battery case apart and place them inside?

Makita or Milwaukee 18v

Lithium Ion is what you need to look for. Amazon is the place to look, I have heard the new 20v DeWalts are not too shabby either

I have Ryobi, I know not the best, but it suits my needs. My father in law bought me some Milwaukee tools for Christmas and so far they're awesome.

those are subs c cells with welded tabs . Just solder wires to the tabs and put the pack back together.
