I agree with High Tide 07. He deserves a chance to go out on TOP of those heifers.

I admittedly don’t know shite about cows/bulls but I enjoy the hell out of your post regarding them.

Do you live north of town? I see some Longhorns on Hwy 1 when I go to Oil City.

Assuming some breeding schemes are the same... I'm sure clyde has laid out lots of options before getting here. When you look at line breeding, inbreeding and out crossing... things can interesting.

Bodacious Cowboy has landed. Hauled about 3.5 hours to get him and 4 hours home. Been a long day...

Gumdrops replaced some old stud when was younger. Circle of life.

He’s had a good run and will continue on. This just prevents inbreeding.

Are Longhorn cattle commonly used as beef cattle? I was thinking they weren’t ideal. And if that’s correct, what do you raise them/ sell them for?

We’ve slaughtered and have eaten some in the past. We cut out the filets and grind pretty much every thing else for burger meat. It helps to add some bacon ends and pieces to the grind.

But for the most part, we keep them because they are badass.

I had to go back out there this morning to power wash the trailer and check on the bull.

I need the sun to come out for better pics of him and his brindle spots.

There's two bulls standing on top of a hill. The younger one says to the older one: "Hey old timer, let's say we run down there and frick one of them cows". The older one says: "No youngn'. Lets walk down and frick 'em all".

We run quite a few head ourselves.... Gumdrops should be thankful he isn’t being processed into hamburger and a leather sofa...
