Why is nobody else complaining?
because it's the same group of sports who fish every gulf coast billfish tournament and no one wants to turn into the black sheep of the family. JJ, however, likes the attention

So they can't DQ the fish after the weigh in?
I have no idea if they can or cannot
but it would make his whole operation look shitty if he came back and said "nevermind, it doesn't count"
at that point you just gotta stick with your original decision and roll with it

He should be familiar with mutilating faces

I will say that it is strange that a 70+ foot sportfishing boat doesn't have video footage. When we fish tournaments on much older and smaller sport fish we always have 5 cameras rolling during any fish fight.

What were the payouts for 1st-3rd in this tourney?

JJ should really quit crying about this before he becomes "that guy" on the tournament scene.
JJ isn't the only guy upset about this. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place boats (Mollie, Breath Easy & Triple J) all lodged complaints.
The bill carries a ton of blood in a fish so if it is cut off its like severing an artery in a Marlin the fish will die very quickly.

76 ft Viking without cameras? Well I see at least two cameras on that boat (including a mounted GoPro)

No video is very odd for that caliber of fish. Nobody ever brings in a potential winner without video anymore.
Hopefully it was all legit and the right decision was made. I love following these tournaments.

What was the "wahoo thing" about?

That looks like a pretty nice vessel.

someone else will have to chime in with specifics but JJ would smoke the wahoo every year and take home a nice paycheck so they changed the rules requiring you to enter more than 1 category
someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong

Pretty much sums it up.

So call me ignorant, but what are the ways these guys could of tried to cheat? Finding the fish dead is obviously not likely. I mean they didn't intentionally run the fish over right? So let's say the video shows the fish dive and then a massive blood cloud because of the bill being cut off, that's why they don't want to show it. Is that 'that' terrible to eliminate the fish? I realize getting a marlin to the boat and boating it are not exactly the same thing, so is that what the big fuss is about? Is he saying they took like a machete to it in the water to kill it so they could bring it in?

Hot Black and Sticky with a $108k dolphin. That's nice. All those things ever cost me is a bloody mess in the boat.

That's not true.

This article and pictures show a marlin without a bill doing just fine. Dan Jacobs runs a ton a tournaments around the world including Bermuda, Caribbean, and the offshore world championship, so he knows what he is talking about.
