Union Parish gun season where I hunt is 75 fricking days It needs to be way shorter if there is any hope of producing the quality bucks that area should produce

Then limit the number of bucks an individual hunter can take from that area.
Put a two buck limit on the whole state. Fine
Don’t limit my time to gun hunt. Normally I hunt just about every weekend of area 9 gun season (not this year) plus I take 2 weeks vacation in December, mostly for hunting.
I average killing 1 deer a season.

No. The article says she played a pretty big role in getting the bill passed that banned trannies from competing in women’s sports in South Dakota and ran Trump’s campaign in SD

We have a lot of losers on here. Can't help themselves.

This makes me very skeptical of her qualifications though

It's mostly a political post, so long as she takes it seriously and retains good people to advise her, she should do fine. Based on her X profile pic I think she is actually a hunter

Sadly this will more than likely have the same result for Louisiana wildlife and hunters as hiring Becky Humphries as CEO had on NWTF

I’m sorry, but I’ve seldom encountered women who had a firm grasp and understanding of the American hunter.

Most people that hunt, do so with a rifle. Reducing the rifle season reduces the pressure on deer. Most people that are jack wagon assholes that hunt do so with a rifle, so reducing rifle season reduces their time in the woods

Louisiana does not produce as many quality bucks as it should in my opinion. Between our hardwoods and other natural resources it should be better. Reducing the time the slap dicks are in the woods helps

Now if you don’t care about, then you will 100% disagree. And that’s fine. Your side is winning for now. I hope it one day changes. I would also be ok with moving to a 4 point restriction on one side of rack etc

I am of the opinion there are PLENTY of does available for those that want meat.

Oh, so you just want less hunters in the woods because you like to bow hunt.

I don’t bow hunt anymore. I want better quality bucks for the state of Louisiana for all hunters

Quality for some people is opportunity.

Actually, I bet the majority of the state values opportunity over racks. Who's more "right?"

With CWD becoming a bigger and bigger deal, shooting fewer deer is a losing argument all the way around .

Nobody is right or wrong. It’s a matter of opinion

I have no doubts that Louisiana can produce bigger bucks if hunters were more selective. I’d be ok with a slightly shorter gun season, but 10 days is ridiculous. I gave up bow hunting over 10 years ago. I enjoy deer hunting. Even if I don’t intend on killing a deer. I don’t want less of it.

There are plenty of good bucks killed every year in La. Sorry if they don’t meet your definition of quality.

I just hope she’s favorable to hunting deer with dogs.

While worth a chuckle, these kind of distract from the major issue here. She is absolutely unqualified for the position.

Season length is one thing. Bigger problem is being able to kill 4 or more deer. If you like pepperoni and bacon pineapple sausage buy that.

Go to other states and spend time in the woods. The number of deer is pitiful here when you get away from a few Parishes around the river.

Go start another thread to argue about the deer season.
