I think the newer ones are 225. Mine says 200 on the sticker. Not sure if I could get a new sticker or how that works. I wouldn't mind doing 60

If one was going to spend 40k on a bay boat. Would yall go with a new 2104 or look for something used that is bigger? Really would like something around 24ft.

Target specks and reds in the Dulac and Hopedale areas.

I'd get a new frontier for that if you're a "keep it forever" kinda guy. A 2104 is great for that. You arent going anywhere in any 24' bay boat that the 2104 couldnt go. With the way my dads 18' handles I imagine the 21 has to be amazing.

I've fished a 22 blackjack before and it's a great hull. 40k gives you lotsssss of options on the used market.

can you get a blazer 2400 for that price? It has a 17* deadrise also and will handle big water better than a 15* boat. If you have time, you could probably get a good kenner 23v for 30k and put 10k in it.

It’s really preference. A 24 footer is a nice riding boat that can fit more people on board. It will take a bigger motor (usually) and consume more gas. It will handle rough seas better.

A 21 footer would likely do just about everything that 24 footer can do for most of your fishing applications.

Some people prefer the bigger boat with lots of room and better ride. I know some that don’t like a boat as big as a 24 as it will be more to handle if you are by yourself or trying to get in tight spots. A 21 foot boat is still very capable of handling bay chop. Now once you getting smaller like a 19 footer I would say it’s more of a drop off.

How many people do you expect will be fishing off the boat most of the time? 3-4 is comfortable on a 21. Having more than 4 on a regular basis would make me lean towards a 24.

Max of 4, which I would think is tight on a 21ft. And yes unless something unforeseen happens and I get afford a new 256 BJ I would keep the 2104 for ever.

Sounds like the 21 would work for you but like most of us we all want the big shiny toy.

Just an FYI, I run a 21 ft Purebay. I fish 4 pretty comfortably. 2 up front and 2 in the back.

Really 4 people that know how to fish isnt much different in a 18 foot boat to a 24. Itll be 2 on the front and 2 on the back either way.
