My buddy is selling his 2007 21’ Kenner with a Suzuki 140. He said he would sell to me for $8,000. The motor has well under 100 hours. I think it’s a great deal deal looking for some opinions.

It sounds like a good deal. Hard to tell what the hull condition is without pictures or anything. Is the motor a 2007 as well? That's low hours for a 12-13yr old motor. I'd want to run it to make sure it functions properly.

I’ve fished in it a few years ago. It was in great condition. I felt like the motor was a little undersized. He uses about twice a year.

Will be a slug with that motor, min 175 for any speed. May buy, sell or trade motor for a runner. New 200 pro xs would be tits.

An 07 is going to be a tracker build, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

It's a little underpowered but for 8k that's a damn good price. The engine is worth that alone with under 100 hours.

agree with all this. Is it 21' vision for 21vx rolled hull?

Definitely under powered, but for the price can re-power w a 200 later.

My frontier 2104 does 52mph with a Suzuki df150. Not sure in the difference of the hulls I think yours might be deeper then the frontier. When I upgrade the motor I might look at a SHO.

i have an '04 Vision with a 200 hp 2-stroke on it. with just myself and ms mack i can get up to 49-50 mph on smooth water but thats pushing the engine upto its max rpm of 5500 - i seldom do this. 140 is going to be slow and may have probs getting out of the hole. if the motor is in as good of shape as you say consider trading it in for new/newer 200 or 225 hp. the boat should be rated up to 225hp.

Have a 2001 Vision tunnel hull with 200 4 stroke yamaha. Can touch 48mph completely trimmed out. Like mack said, the 140 is underpowered but seems to be a good price.

I have a 2000 21vx (rolled edge) I bought 3 years ago for 6k with a turd motor on it. I think 8k sounds like a steal for that setup. I have a new motor on mine now, I really like the hull but I hate I have to keep the scuppers plugged most of the time. I think that’s pretty typical with bay boats 22 and under.

Edit: I have a Merc 150 4 stroke with a rev 4 17 and I’m doing 48 light and 45 with an ice chest and some fat friends.

The frontiers are lighter and faster than the old kenner bottoms. He isnt going to touch 50 unless its propped heavy and ran light.

Still, the engine wouldn't nearly be a dealbreaker for me especially at that price. Reliably is 1st through 10th in my boat priority list and that engine has many years of reliability left in it.

My brother had that same 140 Suzuki on his old boat and it's a good engine. If its in good working order with the low hrs then it's definitely got some value towards a re-power if OP wants to do that.

The motor is a plus to me, even a bit underpowered. I'd wheel it light to maintain good holeshot since I usually fish loaded heavy as hell.

That's a damn good buy as-is for anybody who's priority isnt top end speed and like you said, itll go a long ways towards a repower if speed is a big deal.

With that small motor on the back op probably wont have this problem. Thats a 4cyl engine and the sukes are light 4 strokes.

Hopefully op is signing papers right now

I got 58 out of the one forsale with a 225 optimax but it was squirrley. Four blade prop would help the 2104 since it is stern heavy.
Agree that Kenner is a good buy.

Kenner’s have no pad to run on and at higher speeds they tend to walk on ya.

So the 150 is the max for the 2104?
