I would gladly take the 1911 and P38 off your hands if I was anywhere near BR.

I hope you have something that tells you about their history, I bet it is fascinating.

The OP has to be trolling. Those are all highly collectible guns. I suspect he is just trying to get people on here fired up.

He didn’t say he was selling all of them. Just some that he didn’t want.

I’m curious to what he doesn’t want though. Not buying anything. I just like looking.

You will get absolutely screwed if you take those to a gun store and ask for an appraisal with intent to sell.

Yep, buddy of mine ignored my rule about never sell any gun, and took a couple of his to a gun store where he got insulting offers. He was determined to sell them though so I beat the offer he got from the gun store and everybody was happy.

Does anyone have a "go to" business in the BR area that would appraise/buy/auction these pieces?

With acknowledgment you referenced the BR area, it may be beneficial to contact Dury's Gun Shop in San Antonio. They are an established seller of used firearms and have procedures for inherited collections, both outright purchase or selling on consignment.

No Trolling! Most of the handguns I'll probably keep. The long rifles and shotguns are cool, but I would probably never shoot. Might part ways with most of those.

I would definitely research the historical significance of any of those guns before I sold them. The person who accumulated those might have bought some of them just because of their historical significance. I say that having known a guy who sold some inherited guns and one of the Colts was included in the serial number range of a shipment of guns that went to the 7th Calvary who fought at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. He got about 1/50th of what it eventually sold for at auction. That Colt 1911 is a military issued gun and you can do a freedom of information request for all records associated with that serial number.

I’ve bought a couple collectible firearms from estate auctions on there.

No trouble at all and I don’t remember their commission but it was reasonable

Imagine the screw jobs that have been laid on trusting widows with gun collections over the years.

According to Colt’s website for serial look up, and assuming the 1911 is a Colt. Can’t see whether it is a Colt, but it seems odd it would have a duplicate serial number with another mfg for a 1911.

Serial Number Model Manufacture Year
2106676 MODEL 1911A1 MILITARY 1945
