Quite the list of accolades and achievements. Good call.
Who would you consider the greatest and most accomplished LSU athlete of all time?

My short list would be (in no particular order)

Shaq - NBA Championships 00',01',02',06', Multiple Finals MVP, League MVP in 00', Rookie of the Year in 93, Olympic Gold Medalist, and countless other accolades.

Burrow - Multiple awards in college including 19' National Championship & 19' Heisman Trophy, Multiple Pro-bowls, & led the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance early in his pro career.

Maravich - NCAA Scoring Leader, College Player of the Year 70', NBA Scoring Champ 77', and Multiple All-Star Selections

Skenes - National Pitcher of the Year in 23', NCAA Championship & MVP 23', NL Rookie of the Year 24', Multiple All-Star Selections, and finally the NL Cy Young Award 25'.

Paul Skenes is very quickly heading to the top of the list, if he isn't there already and what is so impressive is that he just completed his second year in his professional career.

Who is at the top of the list for you?
Walked in to Target on Millerville (BR) and bought one right off the shelf at 8:45 this morning! Had several in stock!

I had a terrible picture with my Samsung TV when using the downloaded YouTube TV app. I plugged in my 4k Apple TV and started streaming through it and it was significantly better.

I'm guessing (in my case) the tv just doesn't have the computing power to stream in HD constantly.
He sounded so defeated. I love it.

She does. Certainly looking forward to that when she puts in her 20 years.

Do you have savings? Retirement?

Emergency fund savings of 2k. The wife is paying into state retirement and I have about $25,000 in my simple IRA.

Thanks! We are certainly excited. My wife is a music teacher so private lessons are certainly a possibility. Haven't thought about online music lessons. I'm sure there is an opportunity there.
Take home is about 75 - 80k after taxes.

sounds like some bs from the company. how many employees?

We have 4 employees including myself.
Half of it is medical bills from the pregnancy from last year. The other half is crap I shouldn't have bought but at least it's 0% interest til next year.

I don't have much savings. Just an emergency fund of about 2k
The goal was always to have a family, just not so close in age!
I might have something in the works for a higher-paying position, but I'm not counting on it yet. Maybe another 15k a year if it comes through. My company is too small to offer benefits like insurance.

She intends to return to teaching when the kids are old enough to go to school themselves.

Looking for Financial/Life Advice

Married with a 1-year-old and 2nd child due in August.
Both my wife and I have full-time jobs. She is a teacher and I’m in Sales

Together we make about $120,000 per year. I’m about 70k and she is about 50k. After taxes and withholdings, we bring home about $7,000/m

We have about 9k in credit card debt and another 20k in student loans.
I drive a truck that is $500 a month (worth 32k, owe 26k)
She drives a car that is $550 a month (worth 30k, owe 23k)
The mortgage is $1400/m
Monthly bills range from $1800 – 2300/m

Our situation is in August when my second son is born, my wife will be on unpaid maternity leave for about 12 -14 weeks. We will lose her income during that time. Which we will certainly be upside down without her income. What advice can anyone provide?

The second issue is it really pains me to enroll both of my children in childcare for almost $2000 a month, but I feel like there isn’t another option. My wife talks about being a stay home mom, but I can’t fathom living on my income alone and losing her benefits like health care. We have a nice policy through the state that would be impossible to buy through the marketplace.

Thoughts, comments, and advice would be appreciated.

Edit: Thank you for all the feedback and advice. We are going to sell the vehicles and tighten up the budget. I'm going to track where every dollar goes and find every opportunity to cut.
My brother and his family are on the road to Baton Rouge today and their house is maybe a minute or two from where this tornado hit. They may be staying at my house for an extended stay! Thankful they are ok.
