Quick question, now that I have purchased my first rifle and have learned a ton of things I had never known before about guns, am I going to be annoyed all the time at the inaccuracies that are shown in movies and tv shows?

Granted, the "never reloading" piece is always apparent to most people. I was watching the walking dead last night (dvr'd) and a guy was firing an M4 with no optic or rear sight attached. This was supposed to be an army firearm and it was a flattop rifle with nothing there. Before I wouldn't have ever noticed or known better.

Am I going to constantly be annoyed watching things now?

Yes, and I saw that same scene and was irritated by it because he hit the guy at like 100 yards with no rear sight.

Also, go to the episode from last week and when the camera pans into the governor's palace, tell me if there is anything odd about the guys rifle. It will shock you how obvious it is.

Let it go, man. It's movies. That's kind of like learning to play golf, then watching happy Gilmore saying there is no way he can play golf that well.

Stay away from 80s action movies. The good guys always shoot from the hip, and somehow kill everyone that is shooting at them. Meanwhile, they never run out of ammo, and apparently the bad guys are shooting blanks because they don't hit a god damned thing.

yes. it pissed me off in the most recent bond movie when hes shooting at patrice on the train from 35 feet away one handed.

Also when people shoot while holding someone in a chokehold. hostage would be grabbing their eardrums and crying.

You hit the nail on the head with the reloading thing. Remember the season 2 finale at the farm when the old guy is just unloading with his shotgun? Perfect head shots and the dude must of had a drum full of shells cause that mfer only related like once.

IMDB for guns

Interesting site. See a gun in a movie, look to see what it is.

The aim from the hip thing pisses me off the most.

Silenced FA/SA rifles that make NO noise. Bolt gun with SS ammo sure.

Cocking the hammer of a Beretta 92 or similar after pointing it at the guy for 2 minutes. Same with pumping the shotgun.

Gun safety in general. In T2 John Conner picked up a 911, loaded, cocked and unsafetied, by the front and handed it to Arnold with the muzzle pointed right at his belly. Jesus man, you're the savior of the world. Think harder.

Behop's favorite 90s flick is "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead!".. In it, the burn out, oldest son Kenny shoots skeet off the roof... They are throwing dishes up in the air off the roof in a suburban neighborhood and shooting them... The part that bothered me most was he is obviously holding a rifle and not a shotgun... Awful

Every time I watch a movie I go look to see what guns were used. Seams like they could do a better job supplying the correct guns.

The only thing I can think if that justifies the pumping is that the person getting held up has no idea if a shell is chambered or not, and the pumping reinforces the seriousness and leaves no doubt as to what's about to happen.

And yes, IMFDB is awesome, I visit the site regularly.

I hate this shite. Somebody will be holding people up for 5 minutes then decides to cock the hammer. Wtf?

Yep! This really pissed me off because I had been waiting all week for my rear sight to come in and I couldn't shoot my brand new rifle until I got it. Granted I COULD have, but I wanted to be able to hit something.

I know the guns are make believe, but its interesting reading how they were made. Most were real weapons with shits welded to it
