go to urgent care and get a steroid shot. They’ll probably give you a Z pack of prednisone too. You have a house full of dogs I’m sure you have some prednisone in a drawer somewhere…gulp a handful no matter what

We've all known people who think they need to stay away from people with an ivy "rash". I've seen too many mommas keep their kids out of school for fear that their kid would "spread" the poison ivy.
I've heard some say that every time they work in the yard, they get a poison ivy rash. It's because the oil is on their tools, gloves, boots, etc. and it can it can continue to recontaminate them for years.

Yep, pulled clothes off when I was 8-10 and literally had hundreds of ticks on me from my waist down. Into tub with Clorox and they magically came off dead.
Papaw would soak rags in “coal oil” and tye them around his brogans to keep the ticks and chiggars off when he picked blackberries.

Get the shower water as hot as you can stand it. Put it on the itchy spots, it will "itch" it for you. It feels incredible. The hotter the better.

When I was younger it was almost impossible for me to not end up with poison ivy. I was working in my dad's store and an old timer saw the rash on my arm and said you need to put some Jack Daniels on it. I had tried everything in the past and nothing dries it up quicker for me, especially if you catch it when it first appears. I just keep the airplane shot bottles of it and even keep one in my work backpack. I just dab it 3-4 times a day or more and it clears it up pretty quickly.
I expect other brands will work, but it's what I used the first time, and it worked, so I just always stuck with it.

My poison Ivy was so bad last year I had to stay home from work bc I was miserable and looked disgusting. Oozing from my legs through my pants legs

my favorite part is how the ooze is this sickly yellow amber color and crusts over and when your pants leg sticks to it you get the joy of reopening that wound when you pull them off. I remember being at work and the juice was running down my arm out of my cuff onto the desk while I was typing

I took a handful of it, wadded it up, and smeared it all over myself to demonstrate my immunity to the other kids. I had done this in the past, I knew I was immune. But somehow my body became not immune, and I was in bed for a week encrusted in calamine like a pink mummy.

Zanfel is expensive, but it works. As bad as you have it it sounds like steroids are a better option, but if anyone gets a patch or two on hands or forearms, it really takes care of it in 2-3 days.
