Lock your tailgate. MFers stole my tailgate last Thursday night from a Hotel parking lot. I almost always lock mine, but one time I forgot, they got me.

$5,500 for parts not including painting it to match.

All State is taking care of it, but seriously frick you Mayhem.

This was my reaction as well.

Back up camera, integrated step, hardware, etc.

Total rip off.

Used ones are around $1,600... so that explains why some opioid addict would steal them.

A used F250 tailgate in good condition will cost you $1500-2000 from the junk yard. The thief is making good money and a tailgate can be removed in about a minute.

Put a hose clamp on that hinge. Won't stop a determined thief but may make them move along to an easier one.

I can only imagine what that new GMC tailgate will cost to replace.

Buddy of mine had his tailgate stolen at a boat ramp. He filed a police report on it and the officer said it was very common at that particular ramp. Said that one guy had his transmission stolen out of a 2016 Denali. Those crazy sum bitches were brave enough to steal a damn transmission while a guy was fishing.

Local truck dealer had some new trucks parked on a power line right of way while their lot was being paved. Someone stole the front grills and headlights out of 4 Denali's.

holy cow! No wonder insurance rates keep climbing. A fender bender is a $7,500 booboo.

Try and find one second hand. I have a feeling a guy out there has one that you may not even need to paint.

I think I remember seeing a while back the F250/F350 is the most stolen tailgate or something like that. They’re crazy expensive to replace and people with older F250s regularly upgrade to the newer style since they fit and look nicer, plus have the camera built in, step, all that stuff.

Actually, no. I was driving from Florida to Austin. Got tired around midnight and stopped at a Holiday Inn Express in Katy. Parking lot was brightly lit and cameras everywhere.

Funny thing is, I was really tired on the East side of Houston, but I thought, "You don't want to pull off and stay at one of these shithole hotels... get to Katy."
