One enterprising youngster crawled up on a doe and dropped her getting into his stand. Guns are locked and loaded.
The damn deer skinner is going to be able to build his own outdoor kitchen after this massacre.

He's been shopping Viking appliances during his down time today

Well. The gunfire is now general across the landscape....
My 8yo son just shot his first deer. A spike. It was hit hard and ran off into the weeds. About to go look!!!!
ETA: Heavy blood. Then jumped him about 40 yards from where he was shot. He went down after about 15 yards. Backed out. Gonna help retrieve other deer and then come back for this one.
ETA: the picture below of the three kids in the box. Those belong to me. The pic of the power line food is of my son just before he squeezed the trigger. And then the recovery below that. Me and him with the spike. T4 helped us track him down and drag him out after dinner last night. Many thanks, T4!

Looks like 8 or 9 does bloodied this afternoon. Several search parties set for after dinner.

Sounds like another fun evening. I want in if you do it again next year. I don't need to shoot does...I'll just keep the sitting fire rolling and cook and drink and clean deer.

Well. One of the adults wounded a doe this afternoon. Blood finally ran out after about 300 yds. He also missed two does from the same stand this morning. And, yeah....
It was Da Hammer

I'll bring the tracking dog. Sounds like I'll need to put him on a protein diet the week before

Does da hammer have like a practice shooting range???
Posted on 1/28/17 at 10:13 pm to jimjackandjose
Da hammer shot his deer at 427 today and had good shot(I practice out to 3000yards). The ones this morning I ranged at first light at 150 after the sun came up it was actually 260 shite under them. First deer I've missed in some time.
This has been a great time sorry more couldn't make it. My highlight was helping my friends nephew belly crawl to shoot a doe. That was just an awesome experience getting him to where he could shoot it. What a great time.
Yes ready to donate a shirt tail

Brought 5 to the barn tonight. Got 4 more to look for tomorrow morning. Just came in and ate a bowl of Hammer's awesome gumbo. Now finally crawling into bed at 11pm. One more push in the morning to get the total over 20 for the weekend!

Would love to join next year. I will make some deer curry so everyone gets diarrhea and cant hunt so that less deer are killed (or so that some people wont have to worry about missing shots).
