How quiet is a .223 with a suppressor on it?

Looking to get something to shoot coons and other critters around the house without making too much noise.

Need to use a subsonic round to get rid of that crack. 300 black out with subs and a can would be the quieter option. How far away are the neighbors?

Not that quiet.
Maybe about like a .22 out of a rifle.

3/4 mile.
Also dont want is potentially scaring other game if possible. I want like you see on tv when the mobster shoots the guy in the head with a .45 and it sounds like a 6 month old sneezing.

Subsonic ammo like others said.
The quietest gun I have ever heard/seen was An automatic .22 with subsonic ammo and some special slide with a suppressor. We shot it in a neighborhood, and nobody ever knew it. I wouldn’t have known a bullet was shot if I didn’t see the impact and the brass eject.

Not as quiet as a 300 blackout with subsonic.

Not that quiet unless you shoot subsonic ammo. My 300 blackout with a can shooting subs is very quiet.

You can get .22 subsonic ammo, that is pretty damn quiet without a silencer

Not quiet. Everyone would know you’re shooting a gun
Suppressor + subsonic 22 or 300BLK, you can shoot in a subdivision

I have a Ruger .22 precision and with a silencer and subs it’s quieter than a pellet gun.

I shoot aguila subsonic out my ruger 10/22. They are pretty dang quiet and actually cycle through it.

.22 bolt action with subsonic is about as quiet as it gets.

It's still going to be pretty loud

I asked for some .22 subsonic ammo in Walmart in a small town once and the guy said you mean cat killers?
He said the people in the town bought them to shoot stray cats.

Or you can go buy a .22 pellet gun because the difference is negligible and the ammo is much cheaper.
I have a Ruger SS takedown and a can, and subsonics out of it are no more accurate than my .22 pellet gun.

Agree with everyone here that 223 suppressed is still loud.
You could also try 45 ACP suppressed. Or if you handload your own ammo, 9mm in 124gr or 147gr is pretty easy to keep subsonic. I’ve shot some of my handloaded 124gr 9mm with 4.2gr of Titegroup and it’s super quiet.

Subsonic .223 rounds by atomic ammo are great and shot thru a NAPA/WIX 11" filter suppressor with 8 cups will get you down around 115-119 best we have seen. Super quiet and about equivalent to a standard pellet rifle shot.

I bought the ruger American with sub .22 at bbvdd's reco and it is only slightly louder than a pellet gun. It still has a distinct gunshot sound that air rifles don't, but it is very quiet. I have fired off the porch a few times, in a subdivision, and nobody has said shite.
Decent shot placement with the iron sites.

I still needed some light ear plugs. Definitely loud enough for neighbors to hear
