Are broken handles considered good or bad?

Like to see em try that with a 24" live oak limb

Ive split wood in colorado before. A motivated man (read: cold) can make a half a cord of wood in a hurry with that dry frozen stuff.

I'm not impressed.

I once threw a hatchet at a tree to see if it would stick. It bounced back and hit me in the ankle.

So you can say I'm pretty talented.

I didn't see much, if any, practical skill in any of that. Just as bad as the douchebags that catch and chamber cartridges into their guns.

With a hammer I can hammer for four framers running saws!!!
With a ax I can split wood for four stackers stacking cords.
I can weld anything from the crack of dawn to a broken heart.

I can sharpen a knife so sharp that the glare off the blade will shave hair.

Like a lot of things. Good enough but not the best or worst. Get the job done. I suspect there was a lot of editing and practice in that video but still beats my handiwork and I cut 2-3 cords per year from tree to fireplace by hand with chain saw and axe. At 70 y/o. Love that exercise.

Yeah I just pay people to do shite like that, I only have one eye so hammering isn’t my thing. I am good with a machete and drill though. I just drill anything that could use a hammer. I have split up 1000 damn cords of wood with an axe if that counts. (Lol) I am not ever doing that shite again either.

For real. I grew up in Northern MI and we heated our house with 90% wood. So I have split a lot of wood by hand. Live Oak will break a man's spirits

I watch some Alaska homesteaders on YouTube. They cut trees with a chainsaw then split it all by hand with an ax or maul.

Dude said he tries to get the felled trees bucked up before deep winter, but the logs can be very easy to split in sub-zero temps. They just shatter. He goes through them like nothing.
