Went on an adventure with my son for his 15th birthday Saturday.

Left the house at 4, got to Bada Bing at 5. Took on 50 live shrimp and 20 minnows and loaded them into an ice chest cooler that he made.

Rode out to Havoline Canal and fished around there for a little while. Caught 3 or 4 small trout. Left there and ran to Bell Pass, watched a dude next to us load the boat with little trout while all we caught were trophy lady fish, some had to be close to 3lbs. Left there and went to the East Side of Fourchon and West of Elmer's for Reds. Ended up catching 3 real nice trout in the marsh. All over 17" on a Charteuse Matrix Shad.

Rain clouds popped up so we headed back west and fished around Leeville a bit for Reds. Seen 1 trailing but couldn't get it to hit. Also watched a sheephead eat off some Mangroves for a good 10 minutes.

Came home around 12.

All in a good day with my son. Hes all into fishing now, had the bug worst than me.

myself, hat, jab,JJJ, and con left Friday morning for an overnighter

shite pile of grouper/AJ/snapper/tuna/random bottom fish. It was a hell of a meat haul

After cleaning fish yesterday we ran out of ice chest space and we had a yeti 110 and two yeti 65s

once the paperwork is completed hat will have himself a state record yellow edge grouper

We also caught a flounder in 450' of water

7 reds, 3 keeper trout, and a puppy drum. Caught a ton of small school trout, and at least a hundred lady fish, two at a time on a double rig. You talk about some jumping and dancing when you have tandem ladyfish.

I'll add this. Dad did have his dumb@$$ moment yesterday.

After putting together a nice, but smallish collection of spinners and spoons for the boy, I managed to drop them in the lake yesterday. We didn't notice until we were loading the boats back on the car. I told him I'd replace what was in there. He took it pretty well while we were at the lake. But as I was putting him to bed last night, he was almost asleep. Then he "woke up" a little tear welled up in his and said, "Dad, you will replace everything, won't you?" Broke my heart, and made me feel lower than a snakes belly.

The last thing he said before he went to sleep.

Henderson - 33 bream and 2 cats Saturday am with my 9 yr old and his buddy. It was the buddy's first time fishing ever and he is now "hooked". Spent most of the day untangling those 2 and getting them out of the trees, but still managed a decent box. Last Saturday a buddy and I did well also. 64 Bream, 12 Goggy, 2 cats, and a bass. I launch at a friend's camp off the levy to not have to deal with the landings. Screw that mess.

Similar to every trip I have had for the last 5 years.

I am fixing to start fishing nothing but natural waterways and throwing a spinner bait and Texas rig exclusively.
