Have any of you watched the documentary "Free Solo" of Alex Honnold's climb?

Alex Honnold completed the single most historic climbing feat in history by climbing Yosemite's 3,300 ft (that's almost 2/3rds of a mile climb) granite face of El Capitan (in the picture below, to the right of Alex) without using any safety devices or ropes...fricken INSANEEEEE! He climbed the Southwest face which is also know as the "Freerider" route.
I've been trying to find a viewable source to watch it, but haven't had much luck yet. Anyways, this has to be one of the most incredible feats ever accomplished!
BTW...before someone says "wrong board, should have been posted on movie board," I decided to post it on the OB because it was an outdoor climbing feat and figured my fellow OB enthusiasts would enjoy the discussion

I've considered that, but the closest IMAX is over 2 hours away.

Man what is it with guys named Alex not wearing safety harnesses?

watched this multiple times
i’m a climber, albeit a pretty shitty one
but climber or not...it’s impossible to wrap my head around what he’s done. i’ll go on record saying this is the greatest achievement in all of sport, and up there with mankind’s most notable events.
the boulder problem. holy shite
everyone should watch this flick

I agree. I think what he did as an individual physical achievement may be the greatest feat in known human history.

A saw it last week. Absolutely amazing.
I gotta be honest though. Some of those shots made me feel really uncomfortable. I used to have no problems with heights but not now. Can’t stand them.

Watched it on nat geo the other night. Unless theres more than one documentary on it.

Never seen anything like it. One of the top human feats of all time.
My hands and feet were sweaty after I finished. The guy is basically Spider-Man

I watched it on TV a week or 2 ago but I don't recall what channel. I'm on Spectrum and have the basic plan.

That's probably the channel I saw it on. It was a 2 hour deal.

So is he, guy is throwed off big time but he can climb.

Really amazing. Wish they would have shown more video of the final climb and less of his GF.

Yeah that could have been 30 minutes shorter if he hadn't found a lady friend.
absolutley insane. "The dawn wall" is another good one to check out.
Went to enchanted rock with the family today and got the 4 year old on real rock for the first time. Just a little boulder problem but holy hell he was stoked when he topped out.

All of these guys have one thing in common, they all die young

I just finished it. You can watch it on Hulu

His pads at the tips of his fingers are so wide that they looks like a gecko’s fingertips.
He knew he could easily die so he bailed out on he first attempt.
Second attempt was history and although he will still free solo much more before he dies, it won’t be as outragrageous as El Cap.

If you have never been to Yosemite it is hard to truly grasp this accomplishment what an incredible achievement. That wall is incredibly massive when you're looking up at it. We missed him climbing it by a few days (although we never would have known) as we were in Yosemite then. If you love the outdoors I highly suggest going to Yosemite, amazing place.
